    I am up carrying out some more Wild life and Habitat work back end of this coming week with a few of the lads who have taken up our offer to help out with the program.     Just to throw the spanner in the works if i have a piece of land that i lhave leased to me and i need access to it i can use my access right carrying a rifle unloaded over that ground that i an crossing to gain access to my legal ground without hinderance under the right of access code but cannot if the rifle is loaded, but it does not have to be covered.     Its quite simple anybody has A right to roam over land thats not considered to be a private garden or grounds in Scotland to gain access for for enjoyment like walking, camping, climbing etc. But these rights come with responsibilities, like you cant walk across crop fields and neither can you disturb animals like sheep when lambing etc. Such access may mean keeping your dog on a lead to prevent worrying stock etc and skirting perimeters of fields rather than taking a direct line across fields that contain stock etc. The code and Act in detail can be found at this link http://w

    Hi Martin nice responding to you mate. With not seeing your actual wood and shooting ground I can only comment on possible circumstances that may or may not exist there, so please take on board my views accordingly. The obvious would be as you have a wood would be install a few owl and bat boxes south facing this would bring down both insect population like midges and voles which do endless damage, encouragement of those species in an area can only do extreme benefit to the invironment.     Well done to you the more people (sportsmen) who see and act as to how to benefit all Wildlife the better. we all need to get away from this I have paid my money and i am entitled to take attitude,our syndicate operates a system if your prepared to get stuck in and involve yourself in work parties your also deserve the right to control the wildlife in a balanced way to benefit it .
