  1. Citations required....I had a bit of success over the water but in each case the dogs I took had a load of English breeding.....unless something has changed since the ban?
  2. Yes BBB, I get my bus pass in 9 months....but I still ain't as old as Phil Lloyd HaHaHa!
  3. Don't suppose you've a pic of Deacon....I never seen him?
  4. That bitch was bred from Deacon (pure saluki) and a Whisper Wishes greyhound bitch Goldfish. She killed all her hares in Ireland where they say saluki crosses are no good... over 20 years ago. She had faults, like yipping on her first run of the day and eating any hare she caught out of sight.... she also suffered a snapped tendon in a hind toe which ended her career eventually but she did kill a load of Irish hares in paddocks.
  5. If it was doing 5 out of 5 and up for a grand it would only be because it had been witnessed by men who know what stud they think will provide what they're looking for methinks.....either that or a lot of these coursing men are daft...and if they are, so what. It's their money!
  6. I think this is another example of the logical fallacy of "appeal to authority". The vet said it, so it must be true???? How many vets exactly have experienced actual badger on dog aggression? And which of these expressed an opinion in this case?
  7. Never ever have I seen a dog stifle bitten by a badger. How come his chinny chin chin was unscathed? Any time any of my lurchers have met a badger above ground old brock has retreated to his sett in a hurry. Accidental encounters have always ended the instant the badger is free to scarper. Doesn't ring true with me.
  8. Wolves, like other carnivores, eat animals all year round so apart from the raised fat content of summer and autumn kills I wouldn't imagine there needs to be a vastly different diet for different seasons. That idea belongs to the salesmen who want access to our wallets, imho.
  9. UKIP unless the Conservatives become conservative again!!!!
  10. I've posted this before but this little dog I bred 30 years ago became Ch Marvin and the only time he lost a weightpull was when he caught the lure! This litter I raised on nothing but wild caught game, rabbit and hare carcass, from the time when they could only suck on the meat until they were able to crunch bones and all. They never tasted any kind of meal nor processed food until after they left me aged 8 weeks or older. I had a freezer filled by my best ever lurcher...Fly...at the time.
  11. Aah there's a voice from the past.....welcome to the forum granda Nibs!
  12. He was bred by Charlie in Downpatrick about 8 years later, but I'm not sure if there was any closer connection than that Banter. In those days we never foresaw the internet nor the fact that anyone would ask these questions. We assumed we would be able to hunt unchallenged forever....as we always had done.....Take all the pictures you can now....your kids will appreciate them later!
  13. Can't knock any man who puts himself on the line, toe to toe with another fighter!
  14. Brilliant Andy Murray! Fred Perry would struggle to win a set against todays top women so I firmly believe Andy is the best British player by far. What a struggle that was....for two great players. Djokovic is ranked number one but he has never won a set against Andy on grass so I think that means Andy Murray must be number one on grass?
  15. About 40 years ago I visited an old school master called P Grant who lived in county Down near the coast. He owned two whippet/greyhound x Irish terrier lurchers. The dog he had was a smooth silver brindle about 24" and the bitch was about 20" and looked like a whippet with a full Irish coat. Paddy told me the bitch was the best he'd ever had on the lamp and had caught 33 rabbits on her first night afield. I often wonder if the old man might still be alive.....but I doubt it sadly.
  16. Cru's own figures rule out any statistically significant warming in 16 years but satellite data says no warming trend in 23 years.....
  17. http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/07/03/u-n-world-meteorological-organization-report-pans-the-idea-that-severe-weather-and-severe-weather-deaths-can-be-linked-to-climate-change/#more-89224 See how different outlets make different interpretations...Above is renowned meteorologist Anthony Watts take on the same report.
  18. An old friend passed away this morning. Jack Graham "the butcherboy from East Belfast" who bred my old Oscar dog over 40 years ago. R.I.P. Jack
  19. Scroll up when you open the link for the burning car
  20. The point of it is that the traffic lights were melted by heat from a burning car...not "global warming" but the original poster was trying to imply that it was unusually high temperatures that caused it, until he was exposed by others who knew the whole picture.
  21. http://joannenova.com.au/2013/07/peter-gleick-thinks-or-pretends-co2-can-melt-traffic-lights/#more-29324 Just another example today of how some political activists try to push their own agenda under the guise of "science"
  22. SSHHHH! Fuji...Big E will be stalking you.....you know how he loves those cream buns!
  23. That's one you just hope you can walk away from before it rises...live and grow strong my son!
  24. Just to add counterbalance to the heat wave hype...it turns out the Midwest is experiencing unusually cold temperatures. I wonder seriously if the unusually cold and late arriving spring that occurred this year across Europe, Russia, Canada and the Midwest...all cereal rowing areas...will result in food price rises next year.
  25. This graph from the Environmental Protection Agency's own figures shows much worse heatwaves in the past
