  1. He's a star D'Arcy. my pal anyway!!!

  2. That's right it had rained overnight which made the ground sticky, different going altogether from day one. That for me was the best of all the Forleys. I started off on the banking trying to read out the runners to Tony who was taping it....then somewhere along the way I lost him in the excitement of it all
  3. A MESSAGE FROM DAVID CAMERON The UK is in DEEP trouble... The population of this country is Approximately 60 million. 32 million are retired. That leaves 28 million to do the work.. There are 17 million in school or at Universities. Which leaves 11 million to do the work. Of this there are 8 million employed by the UK government. Leaving 3 million to do the work. 1.2 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama Bin-Laden, and fighting in Afghanistan . Which leaves 1.8 millio
  4. THATS TRUE POACHER. IVE KNOWN MEN THAT WHEN THEY HAD A TASTE OF MATCHING THEIR DOGS,EVEN WITH SUCCESS NEVER DONE IT AGAIN. MATCHING COULD TURN A FRIEND AGAINST FRIEND OVER MONEY OR REPUTATION. ALSO THE SLIPS OR QUALITY OF THE HARE COULD COME IN TO QUESTION. TAKE ANY 3 PEOPLE THAT WATCHED A DOG COURSE A HARE & THE 3 PEOPLE CAN EASILY HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWS ON HOW THE CHASE PLAYED OUT, THATS JUST HUMAN NATURE WITHOUT TAKING THE PEOPLE THAT JUST WANT 2 CRAB OTHER PEOPLES DOGS IN TO ACCOUNT. THE "old Meg would have caught that hare" TYPE OF MENTALITY., SO EASY 2 LOSE SIGHT OF THE ENJOYMENT &
  5. Top class animal that. She could have won that Forley cup on another day. They were six top class animals that got through to the second day and I always say you can measure the quality of the winner (Blondie) by the high class of the dogs she beat. Not sure Optimus, was that photo taken at the Forley or another competition?
  6. It's a good idea to turn up in person at these places.....a pal of mine, long before the D.D.A. was passed, rang the local animal charity pound to ask if his missing bulldog had been handed in and the liars told him it hadn't been. He called in in person and was told the same thing but on checking out for himself found the dog locked in a pen. Needless to say he got his dog back. It would have been much harder today with the law as it is but it just goes to show the mindset of the people who run these outfits.
  7. Wibur Smith.....too many great titles to list them all but Sunbird is my favourite stand alone novel from him. All great boys adventure stories for men set in Africa. Mario Puzzo.....The Godfather, even better than the film. Michael Crichton.....State of Fear, an excellent well researched novel from an author with a scientific background.
  8. Oh Brother Where Art Thou..........Tim Blake Nelson plays the part of Delmar O'Donnel along side George Clooney's Everett McGill. A masterful piece of casting. Nelson can tell a story with nothing more than a facial expression. Gormlessness personified, he cracks me up every time I watch him.
  9. you must go ferreting with the same fella colly goes over to, :secret: Yes Colly and I have hunted together on and off for years. It was me introduced him to the guy.
  10. It's them f####rs with eight legs I don't trust
  11. Pity you're not keen on snakes....I love'em. Have a female brazilian rainbow boa, male "high orange" morph Brazilian rainbow boa and a male and female common boa. Since you prefer a lizard why not google info on the black and white Argentinian Tegu which can be researched on the Tegu Talk website. We have a female of nearly 4 feet long and as tame as a kitten. Good luck whatever you decide.
  12. Did your ferreting mate sell a wheatgreyxsalukigrey in cmw not too long ago for 2k ? No idea merle24, I don't get cmw.
  13. Where ever Irish strong dog enthusiasts meet there will be an unfillable gap where Tony should be. Always at the centre of any gathering with his irrepressable wit, beaming smile and undying love for the game dog....we'll all miss you Tony, R.I.P.
  14. Curdog.... yes she was up and at them. Had to be for most of the ground she was running but she grew up in Northern Ireland and knew no different. She could stay on too, at least she stayed as well as she needed to but never had the chance to test her where it counts (for stamina) No Miles my buddy that takes me ferreting on his permission over there is away for a while. I'll miss next season too
  15. did that khan ebery breed to bitch in belfast 2 pups for sale saying that he is the sire both 14 months This is my bitch from that litter aged 8 months iceman. They were born 2nd october '09 Sire, Buster Lennon Dam, Willow
  16. was just wondering what bitch is in your avator pic? she looks a cracker She was a decent bitch I owned in the early 90's called Fly, by Deacon (pure saluki) to a Whisper Wishes greyhound bitch. Killed loads of hares in Ireland but would begin eating them if you didn't get to her sharpish. Never had her to the fens though. As I explained earlier, these two young lurchers were not sired by Khan but by his son Buster. There is no mystery. As far as bull blood is concerned it probably depends on percentages. Two of the games legendary performers, Salty and Sooner were reportedly b
  17. Cheers lads. She's growing into a lovely bitch Optimus! Yes "Buster Lennon"
  18. did that khan ebery breed to bitch in belfast 2 pups for sale saying that he is the sire both 14 months I know the litter these two came from. If you search back through the posts you'll see a pic of a saluki dog called Buster which was bred by John Lennon out of a daughter of his famous old bitch, Star and Khan Jihad. This was about 5 years ago and long before his present, or previous owner had Khan. My pal Collie and I each brought a pup home with us to Northern Ireland from one of our stays with John. In the summer of 2009 I arranged a mating between Buster and the Willow bitch that
