Dont Ask This Fella For Permission. . . Go On Bugger Off !paulsmithy83 replied to a topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs I had some say no with attitude. Usually from the farmers wifes lol there the worste. They seem the ones on the power trip.. Altho i dont really struggle with perm or getting it. I only deal with the blokes Pay em off if i have to. Suprising how many i got by being invited to farmers bbq and stuff like that as i always take a large bottle of whiskey to every long term farm i hunt. Might cost me few £100 in whiskey but its worth having full roam on all the land round by me and further a field. Perm always has led to other perm.

Lamping With Lurchers New Videopaulsmithy83 replied to FERRETBOY's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs Nice vid . even better seeing guys out till day light. Not the quick walk out brigade that want to be home by 3. My kind of night. Out as long as my legs can carry me

Its in japan tad far to start a dog

Not a military buff but think the fan dance is longer then the tourest walk. Think it 30 plus mile over brecons including fan summit running carrying 50kg lol. If park in tourest main pen fan car park There two normal ways up is one side is about 1.5 mile with a more gentle rise. Other slight harder way is you walk about 1000 meters with easy to moderate inclibe then for the path to drop 100 meters or so then raise back up with a steep incline. Alot tougher walk probly take 30mins fit guy. Took me 55mins with bad ankle lol done it loads. Find malverns and even dales alot harder. Great for fitn

Which way you go up???? Not a bad walk at all but as summits go its one the easier . As it seems you start higher up on sea level. There some lower peaks around but alot harder to walk. Bet the mutt was bored there aint much to really hunt there either. That where fugi lucky amazing peaks covered in game. Brecons and surroundings is practicly barran which shame as it epic landscape. Bitch looks to have come a good stamp what here height/weight now. J said she ticking over nicely

Bloods in rio for sure cant knock the price.

Its why i love the saluki so much there almost ferral aproach not been over domesticated. Still are very true to type and breed. Tho give it another 30years and the kennel club will changed em. Just glad there are many working men who strive to keep them true to the breed. As alot people said very slow aproach amd hope that attack hasnt changed her long term but has to be said salukis have exceptional memory so be hard long road

Or maybe all DETAILS will be discussed in pm lol

No special make up. Bred from parents doing the job. Enter it right and give it the right chances to learn then hope luck is on your side.

agree there reason never touch a track grey even if it one the derby. Prince sire to mine caught many 3/3 4/4 5/5 even been out with him on fens where caught two off one slip even tho first course was fare few minite second he caught killed him in a minute in half. Also caught other prey. Was exceptional in day. And they say they have no stamina. No track ones dont but raised as lurcher and train there muscles. Like you said temp in field rather then just speed round 4,6,10,12 bends on a track full of soft sand

It really does depend on the greyhound here to weather id own one. I got a bitch in my kennel queen which is bred down from luke on dam side and Her sire was a greyhound that never seen the track. He was brought from ireland at 5months old from a grey coursing kennels. He had been coursed for over 5 seasons before he covered the bitch. Some people might of know this grey(prince) he made over £7000 in bets on fens and field over his life caught 4/4 day he died. queen won me just over £900 last month didnt miss on a run. I would never touch anything from a track grey but something worked and pro

Adding Saluki Or Breeding It Back Outpaulsmithy83 replied to Hareydave's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs Most field dogs around me can run ireland And sure many many others could also. In days gone by i ran alot of places in ireland north and south before the nipper was born and found it no different to places like carlise, york and places like that. Almost carbon copy of type of land ireland has. We all like to think we have the best hares but apart from fens/planes most field dogs all over weather ireland or england if there any good should put a good run in against the hare. Reason alot are bred for trait and type. Weather field or fen as there different requirements. Most coursing dogs if brou

another thing to add into equation there many a lurcher out there the first one or two thry dicks with then bam they retrieve 100% all night to hand. Seen that it a few peoples dogs some that even bag alot Some to the extreme first rabbit they eat the head then bam from then on 100% live to hand rest of nighy. For a dog that hasmt really caught alot yet being young and lack of game. Lsts be honest is just pure lack of experience. Not posters fault just how game goes.

Soz mucca got told it was half x or close to it. What ever do dont lose rag as it probly wont come near you at all then. Just loads 1 on 1
-
Also you mention ferreting when you been ferreting is it just been her out with you. If more then one dog this is where tons bad habbits can form in pups. Especially if the older dog isnt 100% retriever in it self. Cant get nothing worste then two dogs on a bunny pulling it this way n that way. This can be massive in install competition into a pup and not for the good. Total believer gettig out giving them field craft but under controlled conditions. What she do whilst out ferreting ??????
-
Unusual most half x collies are very bidable. Recall and most other commands easy to install. Just plenty one on one. Some times they throw loyalty to one other rather then owner when in pack. Just more one to one get her confidence up around you
-
Also for a while only take her out on own so no other competition for bunny on the retrieve. Till she back to normal then go from there
-
Just from what you wrote i say lack of game in front of her so shes protecting what shes caught. I'd say with some serious game put infront of her it will channel out of her. Last thing how ever much it.getting on your tit dont shout. I had a coursing bitch very simular to what you described. After the birth of my girl she didbt.have the normal bounty she was used to retrieve went to shit. Loads of game back in front of her and ironed it out. Plenty of catches and confidence is needed. So she doesnt think there few and far between. Jist my take

I'm not sure Mark to be honest..I know he sold Judy for five grand..Minshaw owned Buddy at one stage lol..infact half of England owned it haha He sure threw fire into offspring. C nuttal be first to admit he owned better runners.

That one best post read in such long time.

I like walks without the lamp on snow nights. Its like some full moon nights. I Just walk by woods and you be suprised what can be caught at night this way.
-
If its a young dog it might just be unsure that animal is on the cards. Espwcially after the last 12 months say you been saying things like sheep and such are off cards. This can happen im some dogs that have half a brain and consider what there owner might do if thry nail it without permission. Its no big worry. First 5-10 foxes are all a learning curve. Take out with experienced dog let him know its a quarry your after and jobs a good un then if he dont wanna get involved more can be said but on first fox i wpuldnt panic in slightlest just my view.
-
Them boar are a good challange to stop we got them also. If someone wants a punt
-
No we hunt above ground if not caught it dug would expect lurcher to pull. Like said had some come close to doing ALL mayne should be named part rounder lol
-
What im trying to get at everyone view of allrounder is different. I gave my OPINION. Thats it an opinion.
