    Even though I knew our Penny was fit & in good health at 8yrs old, I took her for a health check and got the thumbs up, easy birth with no probs, in fact she gave birth easyer than our Mouse who's only 6yrs, now both bitches will be spayed in the spring good luck and keep us up dated night worker

    If you decide to get a lurcher, if at all possible collect it to coincide with a weeks holiday to get it bedded in with its surroundings Don't spoil it rotten in the house the first week, then expect it to be content in its kennel & run on returning back to work. I'm lucky, I've got all the time in the world, I'm retired lol

    I would say about 5 years old is a good age, give the bitch time to prove herself Having said this, I've just bred from my 8 yr old bitch with no problems, but only because she has missed twice before,and I really wanted pups from her. Also she's always been kept fit and well.
