  1. Looking good Laurie. Was there not a bit of greyhound in that litter or am I thinking of a different litter?
  2. Not sure if your serious or not Gaz. After reading some of the posts and questions on here lately this could be genuine.
  3. On this note Penny; if you were bringing a young pup into a home where there is already an older dog (a steady bitch) would you be inclined to kennel them together for the first weeks/months to help bring the pup on? Or kennel them side by side and just give them a few hours a day together? As has already been said no way would I even think about the above, far too big a chance of it ending in tears.
  4. The more I read on here the more I realise how little I know about ferret welfare.
  5. That is some garden mate. This is not a dig just a genuine question, why would you want your dogs to be at the peak of their fitness in early August?
  6. Lol I think he meant the oils and urine from the coat cos hobs in season tend to roll around in their own pee Doesn't read that way mate as he's talking about handling the jills.
  7. I've never cleaned a ferrets vulva, makes me wonder how I've managed for near on 30 years when I consider how many I've left in season.
  8. A popular subject on this forum mate, below is the latest thread it was discussed in. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/296408-the-implant/
  9. Can I ask why you think it's a large risk to leave them in season Gaz? Also you're promoting the use of the jill jab, do you think there's no risk of side effects in pumping a syringe full of chemicals into a jill?
  10. Will you be taking a translator with you Laurie they clayholers can take a bit of working out.
  11. I'm selling a complete set up for salmon fishing. Shakespeare Oracle IV 15ft fly rod #10-11, with rod bag and plastic tube. Greys GRXI reel #9-11 with spare spool. Salmon floating spey line#10-11 and backing on the reel and a floating shooting head and running line on the spare spool. Fast sink shooting head and pouch to go with it. Fly box and 24 flies, mostly doubles and trebles and some leader material. I'm looking for £120 plus postage.
  12. As above. Im 53 years old and have had dogs for all of those years, but if the dog was ill it would go to the vets. Same with the ferrets. you go to the vet to seek his advice and treatment, however if you have seen it before and know how to treat it, then his advice is not needed But if you are on here or any of the many other forums asking advice, then you don't know or you would not be asking?. but there might be people who do know, thats how a forum works But in the time that passes the poor old ferret is left to suffer. Take it you don't visit t
  13. Always liked the look of that Bitch Johnny.
  14. Taz, 3/8th x 5/8th collie grey, decent at ferreting and lamping.
  15. Looks tidy mate, what height is she?
  16. The place that pup was slipped could of been the end of it's carrier or worse still it's life..it would be much wiser to take a pup to a spot where you know they is no life threatening obsticles..but hey ho each to there own though it's entirely upto you or anyone else who want's to run the gauntlet with a young dog..i certainly will never do it and my pooches have turned out no worse for it.. if a dog going to hurt its self it will does no matter what land you run your dog Don't agree with that mate, common sense says that the more hazardous the ground you run a dog on the higher th
  17. Depends on the individual dog for me, some are ready for a run before others, the earliest I've started a dog on the lamp would be about 10 months but that would only be a quick look out and maybe only 1 or 2 runs.
  18. The second semi was quicker and Ballymac Vic and Sidaz Jack had faster sectionals . To answer your question, yes, I think all of the dogs in the final have a chance of winning. Could be a bit of bother in the race if the three inside runners arrive at the bend together something will give. I think Droopys Jet has to lead to win whereas Ballymac Vic as he showed on Sat night can come from behind. Best of luck to all finalists and let's hope for a trouble free race.
  19. Enjoyed and learned from his books, RIP Joe.
  20. Try mrpit on here, he might be able to help you out.
  21. As above, won't be a problem.
  22. What age is the sire mate and was it bred in Cockermouth?
