  1. Yes it realy is that simple..come on it's not rocket science is it.. ..obviously they will be teething problem's to start with but a bit of common sense usualy overcome's these problem's.. Read the last sentence of my first reply on this topic Millet, if that doesn't agree with what you said in your first reply I'm missing something. Who said it was rocket science.
  2. spot on millet, sighthound sees movement then chases whats running, aim the beam at the quarry and watch the chase. it really is that simple Is it that simple? What if the rabbits sitting tight and the dog can't see it, do you have to walk up to every rabbit and kick it up. Think the lad was asking what ways folks used to get their dogs to run the length of the beam even though they couldn't see anything there [being true to the beam]. Some suggest food others dummies while others say get it out there and it'll learn from experience which is mostly the case Although I have seen lu
  3. You usually use food at the end of the beam ?? wouldnt mind hearing how that works ?? Pernod Iv seen a few people do this, stick a bowl of food down the end of the garden and put the lamp on it, dog runs down the beam for the food, soon learns there's going to be something for them at the end of that beam. Never heard of that before mate, I like a dog to retrieve and can't see how it could manage to do that with a bowl of food. A better option would be a dummy or even a dead rabbit, do it on the same ground you do your retrieve training and the dog will soon realise
  4. basically a 3/4 1/4 As near 3/4 1/4 as they are 5/8 3/8

  7. Since you ask and any mods with an itchy finger, I'm only answering the question, no need to ban me or give me warnings........ MB used to come on here bragging about Kat, what it could do. It's safe to say he got under people's skin he got thrown a challenge to match his bag chaser (cos he'd race the dog at shows) against a saluki on the fens. There was money to exchange hands, loser to leave site etc, etc. Mark took up the challenge on the day miles took a young dog and obviously mark had Kat. It was to be the best of 3. If you listen to some (chill brookie ) all Kats hares were easy a

  9. Lack of information? You mean you jumped in, put two and two together and got five. Regading a wrong un, I thought I'd made my thoughts perfectly clear. PTS.
  10. It would've saved you judging someone without knowing anything about them. Don't know how long you've had dogs or how much you know about them but as others have said just as in humans you do come across wrong ones from time to time. Well i could have carried on with the conversation but couldnt be arsed to be totally honest. Doesnt matter how much ive been into dogs does it? I know if i had a wrongun it wouldnt be passed on it would be pts or at the least sent back to the breeder. You could have carried on the conversation but the best option was to bail out.

  14. Can't see how you make them essentially sal/bull/grey as there's three times more whippet in them as saluki and bull. More like greyhound x whippet with a touch of saluki and bull. He has got how there bred written in black and white, why interfere for nothing Why are you interfering.

  19. They cross them with other breeds to add something different to the mix, in the case of saluki's that would be stamina.
