  5. That's a good question !! i guess more brain power, a stronger build and frame less likely to damage its self and perfect for breeding a 5/8 3/8. other than that not a lot. why anyone would call a 3/4 bred a moochers dog beats me one of the best lamping mutts i have seen was bred that way, most professionals use collie bred lurchers i had one of these for years when i was younger, she was a super bitch, retrieve live to hand everytime and as clever as they come, didnt like teeth but im sure there are some of the same cross that take everything, they imo are a very versatile and "user f
  6. he was the king pin but his time has passed, all the boys at the top of that game only hold the title for a short while and the young guns will want a piece of the action and not think twice about making a name for themselves. there is always a young fella around the corner that will match your best and go that extra step!! such is life!

  10. Think everyone has different ideas what an all rounder is or should do ,and everyone can add shit loads to the all ready mentioned list ,I wonder how many would give their dogs the chance to do all these things and not just the odd once or twice?...Yes id like my dogs to do this and often ,but lets be real here ,we all have our preferred quarry and even going out 3/4 times a week pre ban id find it hard to run all this different quarry regular, as too me its not doing it the odd once or twice but often , or is an all rounder a jack of all trades and master of none ? To me it's a jack of all
  11. im sure a farmer or sombody with old sheds or somthing would be willing to rent you an outhouse or stable on a short term arrangement to get you out of a hold. if you have good permission surely some of the farmers your friendly with wouldnt see you stuck would they?
  12. for the difference in price i would say this is a far better investment, http://www.ebay.ie/itm/TENG-TOOLS-30-Piece-1-2-Socket-Set-Socket-sets-T1230-/330927684917
  13. an all round running dog in reality should be able to catch all available catchable species, pre ban an all rounder IN MY OPINION is one that could be brought out during the day and be good enough to catch a hare or two, catch bolting rabbits, run a fox if the opportunity arose, and like wise if bambi was encountered it was accounted for. if you were to bring the same dog out on the lamp it should again be able to do its rabbit, hare, fox, and deer. bushing and stuff like that are bonuses if a running dog does it, at the end of the day thats what spaniels are bred for and a running dog for run
  14. i actually heard that since this topic went up!! some have been reclaimed already i believe have they?
  15. i thought that would get a rise out of ya!!! her holidays are nearly over now mate, put a stick of rock under her collor on the way home for me snoop!
  16. it is funny how opinions on dogs can vary, from time to time you hear stories about a certain dog and its capabilities, be it terrier, spaniel, lurcher or hound is irrelivent, yet when you see the dog work in the flesh it may not make you raise an eyebrow, or it it does raise an eyebrow its cause your left scratching your head wondering what the f**k was all the talk about, this does is nothing but alright..... or maybe even poor from some of my own experiences. doctors differ patients die, if im out 5/6 days/nights a week really working a dog a very short time and you know what you have,
  17. snap on top range, blue point more or less on a par with snap on, bacho is decent but i would pick teng as a very good all round value for money set, draper expert are ok but there ratchets dont hold a candle to teng ratchets. you get what you pay for i suppose. go with KING TONY...... aka knuckle busters!!

  22. your going to give snoop a big head mate..... your not his new girlfriend by any chance are you????
  23. . Depends what you would class as an alrounder. As most lurcher work is rabbiting I feel that a bull x would not fall into that category unless you like your meat minced! Would have thought a collie x would suit better just mo not all bull x mince rabbits .....you be surprised some of the gamest dogs bring rabbits back alive ,plus were talking about all rounder here and not rabbiter even if were talking in past tense as in pre ban....I class an all rounder as a dog that takes most game if not all not a rabbit dog you asked me these 2 questions on a thread a while ago. 1. is your dog
