  1. Don't use antibiotics. When used willy nilly the dog will just build up an immunity to them or worse. I wash with hibiscrub (Brilliant stuff for all sorts) a dab of sudacreme, then i leave well alone, no more washing. Some dogs the first time they get bitten, they seem to swell pretty badly for just a rat bite, but you fond the more they get bitten the less they swell.
  2. There are some lads in or near that area, PM me the breeders name/address and i will try to find out prior to your visiting if it is worth going or not
  3. Whoa...hold on 'bud'. I am simply stating how informative this thread has been You do not know what i have and have not done, so lets not make assumptions about anyones apple cart and leave me out of your angst!
  4. I am pleased at how this thread has progressed (not deviated) It has highlighted just how complicated the law, parliament etc is and that simple solutions are not 'simple' at all. I for one have sat really annoyed and thought, this or that, should have been done or said. But having read this thread it makes you think in different ways. I should imagine programmes like Country file have everything checked, checked and checked again for anything which can be thought of as liable. And even though the report they did has turned out to be untrue, i will have been factual and true at the time of th
  5. if they cant wash the bowls daily moll then what hope is they for everything else looking after a dog entails!!!!!... I know some dogs are kept down allotments, the bowls are not carried all the way home to be washed properly
  6. I nearly did also, a white and black bitch. Previously had a bitch from BB, could not fault the dog
  7. Slugs are attracted to the dogs feed dishes. If you cannot wash the bowls daily. Make sure you lift them straight after they have eaten and put somewhere slugs cannot get to them.
  8. He sounds like he is working as a terrier would. And probably because he cannot see the prey once it is in long grass.
  9. Is prevention not better than cure? If so why don't all the keyboard warriors who would do this and that, get together and stop the man from stealing any more....it might be you next If the young lass wants me there, I'll drive down
  10. Tried it several times for the poultry and it does not prevent mites, it MAY decrease the numbers slightly, but wont get rid of the problem. I am on several poultry forums and all the poultry keepers in this country say the same. And treating birds without also treating the housing is a waste of time, just a temporary resolution to a bigger problem. Never tried it on the dogs, never needed to because stronghold does the job when needed.
  11. You can have some of these Ruby, probably fit about 5 of them under a bantam, but unless you can collect them (Northumberland) it wont be for a week or so before i can get any too you. When you do get any eggs discard the ones she is currently sat on.
  12. The North East ferret rescue is not only for 'pet' ferrets, i would say the majority of their rescue ferrets are workers/ex workers, especially since they are based in the north east, you rarely hear of people with pet ferrets here, mainly working ones. They do a sterling job for these little creatures which are sadly often thought of as the lowest in priority in many homes. It must be absolutely devastating for them, all the work they do for this to happen.
  13. I might, depends upon the weather. Then again even when i do i forget to take photos Are you wanting a photo taken?

  15. Fantastic, and i am so very much in love with Bomber
  16. I see the old adage 'Practise makes perfect' Is a load of shite  Sorry
  17. All true except.... One mood all the time.
  18. Never found by allowing my dogs to hunt up through the day it affected their behaviour/training at night when lamping, same with everyone i know, in fact when out on my own lamping i allow the dogs to hunt up through cover, they can often find what the lamp cannot. It is all about the training, dogs are intelligent enough to know the score if shown properly
  19. Well worth the wait Jen Been the same myself for ages.
