Only went out a few times with the border counties, when i went to visit my pal in Shropshire till they disbanded. I believe they are up and running again. Loved it though, because it is all on foot, you are right there in the middle of it all, and participating.

Hey you lot, stop dissing (I think that's the 'in' term) my little terrier Not even sure she killed it, more like kept hold of it while 20 hounds did, the head and two legs were all that was left
  4. Spot on Always amazes me the people who are so negative have never even used one for their dog. When used properly, it takes more dedication to use in conjunction with regular exercise. You have to plan the dogs walking/running regime. They need to have a warm up period as well as a warm down. You do not go and leave the dog, so your time you could be doing something else is taken up watching the dog.
  5. I don't have enough eggs to fill an incubator at the mo Gem. I only have 4 decent hens old enough to lay, and they don't lay everyday, realistically it will be next year before i have enough hens to have surplus eggs. Serama eggs do not travel well, and the better the parents the worse the eggs are. So i would be loathed to waste them on the postal system. If you or anyone you know will be over here later in the year i may have a few eggs or birds you could have. It all depends on what quality you want? If you want good show standard or pet standard.
  6. Hey Von, how you doing..... I had a waist belt for a few seasons, hated it, you could never get in comfy and it always fell of jumping fences etc..... Doing good...you? Guess a woman's ample hips are more suited to the belt
  7. Thank you Red. The 5th pic is her a bit older. She is quite 'gamey' looking, muscular, tight feathered, should be very useful for breeding Yes had 3 broodies, down to one now. They are usually very good at sitting. I'm hatching with bators at the mo. Untill any start sitting.

Last time i went out it was illegal, with packs also. The mink hounds only go out after rats along the river banks now

They can be killed by dogs no problem....apart from the fact it is now illegal
  10. Thank you Ducky (good to see you still around ) I haven't been into them for long, but am completely addicted. Find the breeding etc fascinating
  11. I've one. Have not used it for ages. Should be used as an addition to normal exercise, not a replacement. Brilliant for getting dogs fit again after injury, especially if you do not want them running on uneven ground for a while.
  12. My best bitch was 20wks when i got her, still very puppyish (bullies tend to be for ages) but a joy to train and live with http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/179460-pictures/page__st__495__p__1857586#entry1857586 .
  13. A day of fasting is beneficial for dogs. Not only does it give it's system a chance to clean itself out but also time to rest. You do not feed extra to your dogs on the other 6 days, just feed as normal. I have done this for years now. I first read about it as a child in one of Buster Lloyd Jones books. http://www.denes.co.uk/advice/fact_sheets/fasting.php

By law, the only mammals you can kill with dogs are Rats and rabbits indigenous or not
  15. Spot on Hullhunter Suss out the pups temperament before you make the commitment to take it. And try to suss out if the previous owners have 'fooked it up' at all. Listen to your head rather than your heart. As a general rule Bullies are very easy dogs to train, socialise, and are the biggest lovers of humans and children. I personally think 16wks is a lovely age to get a pup, just as they are starting to take things in and learn. Time before that is just time cleaning up poo lol. I've never had a bull start a fight with another dog, even if they dont like a certain dog, they would ra
