  1. It's not nice. We lost a young 3/4 bred collie x grey dog about 15 months ago and a greyhound bitch just before Xmas both in similar circumstances. Flips your stomach over a bit - but there you have it...the risks attached to running dogs are huge and ever present... That said though - the good times far outweigh the bad. Take care.
  2. Potentical, what the hell is that some sort of mutant tellytubby lol Funny that!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Just do what you have to do - you know what's what eh???

  5. RSPCA - FFS - that can only be a bad move...
  6. I've broke bread with Whin/Matty numerous times - I look forward to his visits to my neck of the woods and I like him. He's easy to feed, never comes empty handed and although he can come across as a bit of a smart arse he is good company and is always welcome here. He just can't help himself when it comes to posting his - at times inflammatory opinions!!! I talked to him today - he's in good form as always. He is a decent lad and has done me several good turns without being asked to do so!!!! Oh, and make no mistake he has walked the walk...
  7. Merle what???? I reckon some folk think merle is a breed of dog rather than a colour!!!! You want a merle whippet!!!! I have a merle 1st x collie x greyhound and I don't think he would be any better/worse if he was black, brindle or pink!!!
  8. Better still let someone else do the breeding and buy a pup in. Ask yourself if you really need the cost, work and hassle breeding a litter of pups entails. Also can you afford to put things right if things go wrong - ie, a C section ain't cheap!!! And what about finding homes for them - press advertising isn't cheap and problem free and unless you are very lucky you will have to deal with a fair amount of idiots before you have them gone. With the best will in the world folk, friends and hunting mates may be 'up for a pup' but often when they're here and ready to go you can be let down...
  9. I smell Whin It ain't whin. It ain't Whin - it's me!!!!!!!! Obviously........you never mentioned Dave Sleight or Salmo's. And I can spell...!!!
  10. Trying to change my profile pic but it's saying "file upload failed" - compressed it, made it smaller etc but it ain't working. Anyone help? I could e-mail the pic to someone if they'd be willing to upload it for me??? Thanks. Colin.

  19. One of the best fox dogs I ever had was a big ex-flapping fawn greyhound bitch - got her from a local greyhound man away back in the early 80s with a view to breeding 1st x collie x greys...she never came into season tho!!! She could use her nose too in the daytime...and she really took to lamping. She didn't miss many on the lamp and had no problem with teeth and got the job done PDQ...she was good fun...on the downside, she'd kill a terrier in a minute and would run sheep, cattle, horses and anything that moved!!! We were both young and daft and it was a good time - happy days and lots of
