  1. This is the way it is starting to go, the rabbit work is going bonkers! I am lucky to have a guy who can do two nights a week for me most weeks but could quite easily take him on full time just doing night work, trouble is he has a good day job.Where you have the amount of quality work coming in like this a good bloke is worth his weight in gold "almost", BUT! he has got to be 101% professional and safe as he has got to be more than a rabbit shooter, he is the face of your business, I am so lucky that my guy is 110%, any muppet can shoot a rabbit but not everyone can be a good ambassador for y

  4. TWOTWOTHREE, yet again a great post!, we are in the process of buying a 1.5 acre small holding down here, looks at the moment like everything we have done this year is going to have to be left behind "bugger", never mind hopefully next year we will make up for it. Atb, J.

  7. Well actually i would not be quite so dissmisive as to say DO NOT use yell products, we have been using them for the last 12 years, I do not like them and tell them that each year, But i do still put some of the advertising budget there, different areas of the country get differing results, down here i would say i get a rough yearly return from the book in the region of 12k, not bad for one medium, yell advertising i am not convinced, it brings in a bit and pays for itself, but i just consider it a way of being noticed amongst the rest. Web presence is obviously the way forward, we do not con
  8. I have only ever got one back nicely mushroomed like the first picky, that was on a very heavy fallow buck who was pumped up on love, shot at about 40yds and he did not have a clue i was there, he just sort of shuddered and started walking off, quickly reloaded but he stopped stood and then dropped. The shot was text book engine room with a 243, the lead was on the opposite side between the skin and flesh, after this i decided 243 was not for me on rutting fallow at close quaters, 6.5x55 after that, thump and they are on their side every time. Now just bought a 308, see how that does things w
  9. You could get a decent one sent over from cabelas a lot cheaper than you would imagine, or you can get hold of plans easy enough to make one yourself. Think actually i might have plans here for one in an "off the grid book", will have a look, if there is i will pop them up.

  12. Proper job there chaps! love those sort of jobs. A couple of new farm contracts that i have just taken on down here had those sort of numbers but i had to go in big guns with a baiting campaign as time was an issue, still had a bit of mopping up to do with the stubborn hangeroners though.
