  1. Are any of them really if any genuine use? We use several to try and help us plan our moleing day, the last three days forecast have been pants, thankfully I took no notice, it's been stunning everyday, a bit chilly and breezy but dry. Not at all the forecasted rain.
  2. Just copy the one on woodga,s dvd, simply a bit of four be two and a handful of nails strategically placed, piece of pish to make, I've turned out well over a thousand on one of these.
  3. Yep I'm full of good intentions! Lol.Update, me and Dan my son have just started "sampling" the ginger beer! Oh boy! He inbibes old wife beater intravenous and he is blown away by it, it's awesome.
  4. Wait till year sixteen! Lol. Until three years ago I just knelt on the floor but at the end of a full day on it in cold weather I could literally struggle to depress the clutch to change gear, go to bed with freezing cold knees and wake up with them still cold in the morning. Mel picked me up one of the kneeling garden foam jobbies, wow, hooked onto the bucket and weighs nothing, but revolutionized my moleing, it's sheer luxury.
  5. Oh heck!! How much sugar have you used in total?Did you take readings before and after? This week I'm doing nettle beer, next a gallon of gorse and middle of next month a couple of dandelion and burdock. In the old days when I drank "ahem" a bit I made raspberry gin, vodka etc, blackberry whiskey etc, but now I'm a reformed character, I'm going to stay away from the strong stuff.
  6. Oh yes! Dytkos, Mel says thank you kindly sir! LolI've lost many of my mole customers to her who have openly admitted they much prefer looking at her arse than mine! Lol.
  7. I think you need to make room for her, maybe move that old crowsport on, I may have room at a push for it. Whistling emoticon.
  8. Really interesting post, cheers for putting up! I considered that one, but my lack of technical skills would have seen it moved on again. Any thoughts on why they are loud? Cheers, Jamie.
  9. Blimey, sounds like I made the right move three years back buying this place and committing to another six or seven year's, if I'd moved over like we were planning I would have been working harder as a semi retired moley in France than I am as a full time pesty over here! Lol. We always joke when traveling around over there that there can't be any mole men in France going by the numbers everywhere.
  10. Nicepix, it's really interesting how you're doing things differently over there. Is it because of the numbers are a lot higher per acre or is it your jobs are a long way apart?.
  11. That's Richard cranium then! Mr full of self importance himself.
  12. Six nights a week on average, oh, sorry just read the question again! Put em down, go back four days later.
  13. Good question mate! Had them donkeys years. They're cheap as chips, let me look around. Worst comes to worst I could bundle you up a handful and post them up, they've still got a bit of life in them.
  14. Indeed, especially next month when doubles will be the norm, the only way you can replicate this with anything other than a duffus is to put in twice as many traps. Already started picking up one or two doubles, and had one that had been chomped on Thursday.
  15. Haha, good point, lol. It appears I was incorrect last evening, the putange kits are still out of stock and the talpex. However I did have two overpriced ones turn up in the post this morning bought from over here "talpex sorry". Can't believe I've never tried one in all the years I've been doing this for a living, stick them in on a job I'm doing Monday to see what happens.
  16. Blimey that's a posh job mate! Makes mine look proper off the moor! Lol. How tricky is that to set?
  17. Are you able to pop up a close up pic of that set up please jd? Sounds a better/simpler set up than what I'm doing.Cheers, Jamie.
  18. I believe Glen is working on something, but that's of no use to you right now. To be honest, I don't think you'll learn much more by reading about it than actually knocking some up and just giving it a go. It will help you greatly if you can find a straight run where they are darting between places, they're motoring when they do this so will hit it nicely, rather than it just ambling. The other main thing to take into consideration is that your trigger that holds the whip down must be able to release which ever direction the rats are traveling from. Also the more sensitive you can make t
  19. Sounds good, I know it was the original way to use hazel, willow etc, but it's not really the best thing as it takes on memory quite quickly. The fencing stakes I'm using in the pictures are cheap as chips, but even they take on a memory. Some have bought cheap fishing poles off the bay I think?
  20. Dont ! lol,....you use the 'duffus', dont you ? & the 'trapline', and i take it you have a few 'talpex' ? ,.....sounds like youve got everything you need, then,.......lolAnd the Fenn scissors! But.....oh bugger, your probably right.
  21. Your right, the kits are back up! £25 20 traps, pliers and 70 triggers. Hmmm, do I don't I? Never used one, seen one.
  22. Nicepix, unfortunately I know gamme vert all too well, she drags me around at least one every time were over, not like we haven't got enough ruddy garden centres in this country!
