  1. I seriously can't wait for the call to say the spectre is ready to pick up, in the meantime time though tinbums sorting my , and I'm torn between tx and ps. What it's like to be a tackle tart.
  2. :feck: Totally! I'll do you a favour and take her off your hands! These damned springers are addictive, their breeding in my big gun cabinet.lol
  3. Good job jobbed there! Not being funny, but you don't actually leave them hanging from road side fences do you? If we did that down here it would make the red top rags front page. Lol
  4. Great job fella! I'm being nagged at the moment about getting the beds ready, keep telling her, I've got to get all these bare root Apple trees in first. Nearly there, only eleven left now. We did get the garlic, red and white onions in last week so it's not that bad. She also got up another greenhouse on the weekend so its not Like nothing's being done. Also, even down here were still getting sharp morning frosts.
  5. That's interesting, I was getting on lovely with it on several forums, then I was forced into a schedule upgrade on the weekend, now I can't access gallery through files, so can't post! @#$%&!?
  6. Cornish will save the day if your stuck mate, I'm sure Cheers, D. Um, probably best we don't go there! Uh hum, if you know what I mean, where's the whistling emoticon when you need it.
  7. She's been over and sussed out what's what, as usual the grass is getting away. So there is some urgency. She managed to get twenty traps in, but there's quite a bit to sort out so we will both gave to get stuck in next few days. Trouble is were short of traps as we've so many jobs on the go at once, flat pack can't get any out to us till middle of next week. Almost called bethel and then thought, nah, we will scrape by.
  8. Well I took an interesting call this morning from one of the dairy farms I used to do moles for back when I was still doing them. He's just paid one of the local Wyatt Erps nearly £1500 to rid the farm of moles using gas, soon as our gas man got on his horse and left town with his booty, the farmer got the contractors in to roll the fields "not cheap", surprise surprise quite a few of the fields are now blossoming nicely with fresh hills. Calls up Wyatt Erp and says you need to get back tonto and get this finished! Ah, he doesn't guarantee his work, merely charges per canister so this will b
  9. Well I'm a lazy sod and never clean mine, only rub off different soil types between jobs, BUT she who shall not be named regularlyfinds traps in her motor with moles in varying degrees of decomposition. My boy and his family refuse to get in her motor after one incident!!!!!
  10. Sounds great! The only other thing some have tried is adding glycerin to give mouth feel! I have not as I wanted to stat as au naturel as poss. My thinking is that if it appears "thin" then numerous things can be added at time of consumption to address if necessary.
  11. Bit early, but I've just opened the first bottle of cider I've ever made. Not very carbonated, just a hint, flavour is complex, what definitely came through is a banana flavour which one of the apples I scrounged smelt and tasted strongly of. Will try to leave the rest of the batch to mature.
  12. Hah, no pressure there then! In that case don't forget day after it stops bubbling rack off sediment carefully and , then either wait a day and bottle, or bottle immediately. If you don't sweeten with a non fermenting sugar at this point it'll be as dry as a nuns "you get the idea"! Also add 1tsp of caster or granulated to each 500ml bottle or equivalent, depending on bottles your using. Needs to stay in the warm for about a fortnight then put it somewhere cool and forget till the summer. On the brewing forum people have been tempted to sample after a couple of weeks and been disappointed, t
  13. What's in your recipe?, if it's in a warm place it'll be fermented out in about seven days. Mines about to go out to the shed tomorrow to cool and condition.
  14. Love my lgu! Don't think I've owned a 97 or 77 but can't be sure. The build quality of the lgu is phenomenal, it's heavy, it looks and feels gorgeous.
  15. Never tried talpex or putanges, been duffus all the way bar a dozen of Steve albanos, oh and a couple of fenns scissors. Must try and get hold of some putanges when I'm over in May though to give a spin.
  16. Come on Darcy, stop sitting on the fence! Lol
  17. I'm not sure about the rules and regs in France, but here in the UK if you remove 'waste' from a clients premises, you need to register as a waste carrier, and pay for disposal For me, it's simple. I'm paid to catch moles. When I've caught them, they belong to the customer and are therefore their waste For domestic customers, they can chuck them in the bin (or I'll do it for them) and for farmers, they can do with them as they wish. Interestingly, 'wild' animals are exempt from the Animal (By Products) Regulations....... that's the rules that stopped them doing on farm burial of l
  18. He's doing a spectre for me at the mo, can't wait. When I rang about something else before ordering this I couldn't get him off the phone lol! Rather different to most shall we say.
  19. The Mrs likes to use a rucksack, but I find it too much of a faff. Much prefer the mk1 plastic five gallon buckets, when I was doing farms still I would do the same as Matt and carry two, trouble is with my noodle arms it used to seriously bugger my elbows and shoulders. The great benefit with buckets is over the course of a season I've probably accumulated 2cwt of prime soil in the bottom of the buckets which I put on my raised beds.
  20. Funny enough stepped on the first bit of the year yesterday and thought, aah, spring is on its way.
  21. Yep another vote for Vista, even had some T,s done by them once! If you really want to get busy on the moles, go to the livestock market and put them under all the wind screen wipers on every 4x4.
  22. Fair comment Matt! Now if we're discussing pest control in general, ie black box checking, eu regs, loss of rodenticides etc then I'm right with you, only saying to Mel the other night that I can see a time not too far off where I say stuff it, no more contract work. It seriously bores the crap out of me, add that to ever increasing paper work, it just isn't worth it. Probably another five years at most and I'll flog the contracts, and just do rabbits, moles and the one off,s.
  23. We're thick with them down here! It's a constant battle to keep them under control on some of my contacts.
  24. It's a difficult one muddy! It's like a snowball, more wom more work, more wom and before you know it your thinking this is killing me. It's a great situation to be in but.......! Some on here know that I had some health issues which to be honest have left me with far less stamina, plus I ain't no spring chicken anymore. I now try to work smart concentrating on domestic stuff, there is ocean's of it out there, but as I'm sure Matt would tell you , you musnt be a one trick pony. Domestic one offs, like fleas, wasps, clusters etc seriously boost your annual income.
  25. Forgot to mention, half tsp of splenda per bottle to sweeten a bit and one tsp per bottle of caster sugar to bottle condition and plenty of fizz.
