    The Hunting with dogs act is based entirely on assumptions to get convictions in the courts Assuming that any one with a running dog in a car or walking is hunting mammals. Assuming that if a dog is seen running a hare, that in order to satisfy the Hunting act the dog has been slipped deliberately on the hare. Assuming that any lad with a dog has a lesser right than any other member of the public to be in certain areas. Assuming that most lads will roll over for an offer of Trespass in search of,game instead of Hunting mammals with dogs charge. and in general ASSUMING all running lads are junk

    Coursing has never gone any where only the way it is carried out has had to adapt, as for organised coursing making a return forget it. Best that can happen is that private land could be considered as a private agreement with the landowner and the individual to control the hare population even if affordable licence fees were charged annually it would be a step in the right direction, if not then you are your own master

    Had two discs compressed in the neck of my pure dog when he was 13 months old , walking like a crab and stiff as a poker had him scanned by Paul Evans to confirm the injury . Took me 9 months but got him back running never had a problem since may be arthritus when older but its a wait and see.

    perhaps the person who wrote the petition could have wrote it out better BUT at least they are trying to do something about the ban which is more than can be said for alot of other lurcher folk. One of the very reasons that there is apathy within the lurcher,/ coursing community is that side issues take precedent over the real issue the ban on hunting with dogs.Lacs /Antis and the RSPCA are streets ahead in their combined efforts to discredit any kind of hunting and hunters in general..
