  1. You left the field minus a rabbit and bruised pride intact, the scrotes have a rabbit and no morals and pride. The better man won.
  2. What type of keepers don,t have a gun?,cannot use a snare?,don,t know how to set and bait a stink pit or trap?,or cannot source a working terrier, even as a season,s loan?.If there are sufficient bunny,s on the ground im sure it would be worth somebody,s time and generousity to loan a terrier for the permission, even turn up and cover the ground with their terriers for the said permission.
  3. A keepered estate, with all the contacts, past and present and they cannot source a working terrier??.
  4. Im sure there are plenty of young uns out there that respect the land, quarry and mutts, they listen, learn and put it all into practice, alas, from what ive seen they are not the norm now.The best they can do is carry on and stay away from the muppets and chancers.A young lad asked me what the lurchers and terriers were like with ferrets,i thought that was a sensible enough question and proudly informed him that i took great care in breaking the dogs to ferrets and other livestock from an early age,i was about to explain the methods i use and the reasons for it until he informed me that i did,nt h
  5. Why do they make the lurchers wear Camo gear, new fad with the trendsetting young uns maybe?.While you are on here they will possibly be taking note and nipping back out with their suitably attired jukels.I find,at this time of year, its to warm for the dogs to be dressed in their usual garb,i go with the rubber and leathertte tight fitting bunny suits, just let them run unhibited and free from the oppression of ill fitting and restrictive doggy suits.
  6. Thats an ugly kid,are you certain its mine?.Your mother gives head, why don,t you?It Cannot possibly be my round again, can it?.
  7. What, another sheep?,it won,t make the slightest difference to the dog what it hunts,if not stock broken properly the dog will chase mutton if and when it takes the urge. The only way is to break it to stock, whichever way works best, before it ever gets out hunting again.Anybody that takes a known stock worrier out in the field, awaiting its next taste of mutton, should never own a dog of any description.
  8. If the dam and sire win shows, then the pups should make good workers????????.Who,s bothered about working ability when its easier to stack up on ribbons?.
  9. Early stuff, brilliant,i don,t think he,s made any decent music in 30 years.
  10. I doubt the hunting factor plays a part in it for most of us,the dogs come across long grass and seeds in their daily exercise, its usually that or the dogs will only see tarmac.Im sure you exercise your mutts where the grass and seeds abound at certain times of year, what precautions do you take?and look out for?.
  11. If your wanting an hunting dog then your choice would be affected by what you will be putting in front of it,a 3/4 collie would not be my choice for any lurcher type,or hunting scenario. The land you walk will also play a significant role in the dog that would suit you best.If your wanting a dog to chase artificial lures, then get a sighthound type and forget about the collie.
  12. I do not want a Lurcher to replace a Gundog but to supplement it. If during a daily walk a Spaniel hunts up a rabbit and flushes it from it's seat, the Spaniel should sit(reinforced by whistle command) and remain seated until asked to continue to hunt or to retrieve the shot rabbit. In the requirements I have outlined in my original question, instead of shooting the rabbit, if a Lurcher was present it could be sent to pursue and hopefully catch the prey. Very much like how a Dogs hunts game for a Hawk or Falcon. I see little difficulty in keeping a Lurcher with me whilst fishing because,
  13. Id agree with that to a point, but most trial dogs come from a working background and actually earn their keep working round the farm, there are some now that own a dog for trialling only,a very recent undertaking,i doubt these dogs are as physically or as mentally hard as some of their litter mates that never leave the farm, yet they are the same dog type. There is a growing number of Collie owners now who keep and breed the dogs for agility and obedience trials,a totally different trial and dogs, although bred from working ancestory, are bred with a different goal in mind, there suitability to work
  14. Its a pup,it will act and perform like a pup,not an adult dog.As it matures and becomes more confident things will change, especially the temperament, until then be more understanding and patient.
  15. Me and our lass went to a wedding recently, how she squeezed all that pork into that dress ill never know, disadvantaged cloth i know the answer to.
  16. I remember always being hungry, the family,s that knew how to harvest the seasons fared the best, snaring, ferreting soon became second nature, paddling the mud flaps in your trolleys waiting for the feel of flatty,s underfoot was sheer exhilaration, taking only enough eggs from ducks, pheasants, partridge and lapwings,to feed the family and leaving enough to let the birds breed was the norm.Harvesting fruit, some that was,nt in someones garden, wild strawberries along the railway lines, damsons and blackberries.Mushrooms, especially the giant horse mushrooms that could feed an whole family. The skeleton
  17. If you fail to understand why the nugget warranted the justified abuse, then im afraid you would possibly be the sort of company he may thrive in.
  18. If you put your spaniel training ability, with a few tweeks, into a lurcher i think you may be pleasantly surprised with the outcome,a word of warning, you can be harder on a spaniel, a Collie bred lurcher benefits from a more sensitive approach. The breeding side and the owners is a little more complicated,on the whole the majority of owners and breeders have only the dog and pups interest at heart, there are plenty of unscrupulous people out there, but they are not the norm, insist on seeing the parents at work, talk to the owners and trust your judgement.
  19. the hard type beardies were too hard on the sheep which is why most preferred the border .... Collies have been bred for centuries to do a job of work, the best dogs of whatever type have been selectively bred and utilised.Any dogs showing bad working traits soon met a dire end.The main reason for the demise of the Beardie was down to the men and women working and breeding them, that reason was the Border being the better option.A collie hard on sheep usually finds a willing home with a farmer with cows, they prefer that type and again the vast majority are Borders.
  20. I would have thought a lurcher of the right type would suit your lifestyle,id personally look no further than a 1st cross Collie/Greyhound.With your training capability a dog of this type would flourish in your hands, the dog will excell at all you put in front of it.The only down side i can see is,you will wonder why you waited so long to discover the benefits this type of dog will offer you.
  21. If using a Collie in the mix always use a dog from a genuine working background,it makes a big difference, especially with temperament. If the Beardie was the better type, why do the vast majority of farmers use Borders?,why is it that Beardies are very rarely in sheepdog trials?.If the Beardie really was a better type collie, why do the people who,s job is dependant on the dog at heel,on the whole, use Borders?.If the best working dog available is a Beardie or Border,id use that dog.
  22. I very much doubt it,but you carry on digging an hole for you and the inbreds to live in.
  23. Might be better off hidden behind more than a fence because that dumb f**k must like the sort of attention its better to live without. Hogie lives in northern Ireland where it is still legal to hunt foxes with dogs. Another brainless twat with a certain type of lurcher that looks to justify gross stupidity,do you honestly think that you and your brain dead mates are the only people that have ever tested a jukel at the sharp end,the difference is something you may never understand, trot on and enjoy. What type of lurcher do I keep ? And my lurchers have never been tested as you put it one
