  1. Thanks mackem. Most I can take out is 6. In areas it can get tricky I put it down to 4. Sometimes people book for groups of 2 or even 1 to 1 guiding.
  2. First group of the year out this week. Still a bit cold but decent enough. Back on site tomorrow though
  3. Great write up and great adventure
  4. Great cross for a bit of bushing. Mine isn’t a first cross and is a mixture of different terries and spaniels. 3/8 5/8. Looks more towards a patterdale though. He will push anything out of cover and ferrets too. I’d definitely get another. Touch wood he’s never dropped in. Had him around holes a lot as a pup and I think if I hadn’t have stopped him then he would go to ground.
  5. Nice. He would easily pass for a mali x too
  6. Smart them. Are they both first x ACD grey?
  7. Is the terrier an earth dog or busher mate?
  8. There’s a few breeders in Devon. My neighbour has just ordered a pup. Doubt they will be from workers though and they normally cost a bit.
  9. Do you have much luck on the coastline FP? We’ve been seeing a fair bit. Tend to send the bushers down on the slopes and try keep the runners at the top.
  10. Pass on our birthday wishes mate. Great to see shes still getting out for a walk. Great part of the coastline too. Hopefully catch up soon.
  11. Spot on mate. I’d love to see similar breeds working hillsides, rock piles etc. They look decent
  12. Like the look of them Sambo. Do you work the hills with them?
  13. Going to turn out a nice type Andy. Great pics.
  14. I’ve not got much experience with pure springers or cockers but the ones I have seen have always been mute. Prob worth looking at other crosses if you are open to them. Spaniel terrier or something with some beagle. Depends if you are dead set on springers only. ATB with the search.
  15. Seems to be the story in most places. There’s a few places that holds a few and some decent bushing areas. Been finding some way up on the Tors
  16. For some reason I’m finding them on much higher ground this season. Maybe all the rain.
  17. Mainly off for me. They miss a few but normally they are in the right spot. If it’s a big patch of cover then sometimes have them set way back and on a slip. I’d rather let them get some exercise and work it out for themselves. If you go to regular spots they soon suss out where the quarry will run.
  18. I started my busher going from about 4 mo the old. He worked along side Newkids JRT. She was very good at her job. Top pic is my 3/8 5/8 spaniel terrier. Bottom is the misses JRT x Sprocker. She’s more of a pet but puts in a shift when I manage to sneak her out!
  19. These are the same mate. Hit any cover and touch wood, never gone to ground. Wouldn’t be without my bushing dog. The young bitch is really quick. If I didn’t know her breeding you would think there’s whippet and beagle in there too
  20. Got 2 bushers here. Both spaniel x terrier. One will make a right racket once he’s behind something. The other is pretty much silent. She will give a slight yap when she’s right on something. maybe look at terrier x whippet if you are wanting something quick enough and you might have a chance of it being silent
  21. Well done mate. Always worth popping out and doing a bit
