    It's gone fast and will soon be their first proper season. Here's some of blue. Picking him up time!! Growing into his ears Early training with stock Starting to look like a lurcher 6-9 months out and about and ferreting This morning at 1 year Overall he has been a good lad. Quick to learn. Bold and training has gone well. We have had our moments but I would mainly put them down to me!! Never had a dog with saluki in before but I don't regret anything and can't wait until this season. Thanks to the guys on here who have offered me endless advice and day

    I had a dog back in the late 80's that was line bred stuff. Mainly deerhound based lurcher to lurcher. They were good dogs but I was young and didn't do my pup any justice really compared to what they were capable of. I seen a picture on here a few months back and the dogs were the spit of mine. Anyway I messaged the guy 'CWN HELA' and it turns out they are the same line his uncles kept and now his cousin is carrying them on. Good to see!!

    Yeah should imagine there's a few that go out there. It's not my usual stomping ground but my mate has a farm there.

    Here's a few of mine. 1 year old in June. Havnt really done much with him but he picked it up fine. I like my dog to be able to jump but if the option is there for him to crawl under or through then that's better rather than jumping being the only option.

    Same here. I'm now using vet bed. Dog doesn't chew it and you can wash it on a hi temp. Dries really quick. Other bedding I was using was giving his eyes grief. Fairly expensive but lasts.

    Yeah I know mate. He will be getting used to it alright. Just wanted to start him for the season somewhere like the dales as there's some nice open warrens. He will be fine and I've had some decent offers.

    Cheers mate. I have some permission and go out with lads off here. Was just wanting to get in some good ground to start the dog off. It's all hedges here!!

    My pup will be good to go for after the summer and will be 15 months for the start of the season. Looking at swapping some ferreting/lamping for some kayak fishing. Would ideally like to give him a go on some open warrens and some decent lamping ground to give him a good start (it's all hedge rows here). I have all the kit here to take you out kayak fishing in Devon and have taken a few groups out. I'm willing to travel for the right offer/swap. Thanks in advance.

    Same here Gaz. Saves paying out and then claiming back. My vet sorts it all between them and pet plan.

    hes doing well, along way to go yet.. letting him enjoy being a pup with the odd bit of ferreting. still hates being left on own.. Pretty much the same here mate. He hasn't got another dog to run with all the time so I get him to the park as much as possible as there's plenty there. My dog doesn't like being left alone either!! He's pretty much with me all day most days so I'm not too fussed.

    He's looking good joe. How you finding him?? His brother has been no bother really and picking things up fairly quickly......and has a habit of finding things!

    Mate that's a shame. Always happens to the good ones! My bitch above was stolen whilst I was at school. I was gutted. Someone had done their homework as she was in a kennel inside a locked barn. Good luck with your new dog

    Not sure how she was bred as she was a rescue but a good bitch. Reckon she was about 13 months when I got her. She had guts but was a nice dog to have around the house too. Good prey drive, brains and taught me a thing or 2. Natural hunter and was a good dog to have growing up. Pic taken in 1991.
