  1. or the post under this one, bullbars, but your prob too far to collect
  2. picked up a very good condition bull bar, but as it says above its from a 410/413 and is a little too small on the width to fit a 96 vitara, so if anyone out there has a vitara one they wanna swap, let me know, maybe we could meet halfway if big distance now sold
  3. stubby

    joke

    now that made me laugh
  4. put sign up saying, 10p a crap.......... well, where would they get the money from????
  5. so today was our 1st ferreting day since I attended the NFR ferreting day, I had enough of everything, nets, ferrets, locator, shovels, and land myself and daughter left home around 9am, quick chat with the farmer on our arrival, and giving him the pidgeon netting I had promised him, he uses it to cover his fruit trees from the birds, and was told that we should do the warrens on the boundary fences, and that the other farmer was ok with it(hopefully future permission) we netted up a series of holes 9 ish, and i made the mistake of not netting the ones that looked like they had'ent been used in
  6. see what ferret keeping does to ya I keep checking for "little nipper's" body, as he's wee compared to mine, but he holds his own at feeding time, always the first to latch onto the meat, and dont take no $hit from the others
  7. thought I'd stick some pictures up of my ferrets, theres 2 jill mums, 6 youngsters, and dad, so keeping it in the family, barring "little nipper" who was got for my eldest son, but when I picked him up, decieded my son could have one of the poley hobs I had, cos this little sod looked good, he was the smallest hob from a litter of 10 and as my hobs are big buggers, thought he'd make a good addition to the ferreting team http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/eastl...r/buster003.jpg this is buster, albino hob and "the dad" http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/eastl.../theclan018.jp
  8. right, either buy, or ask ya council man for RAT BAIT STATIONS, not trays, these are boxes that the poison fits inside, ask for CONTRAC BLOCKS rather than grain bait, that way they consume the poison within the box, rather than grabbing a mouthful of grain and running(risk of dropping grain outside) which may then get eaten my non target species or children but just to assure you, poisons are treated to give a very bitter taste, which rats/mice love but we humans hate, so ya bait stations are in position, ya may even put some break back traps down, if so, place bits of wood/st
  9. heds, its just what I was told when I got my silvers, and from past experience of breeding birds and studing generics, quote;breed them for years with only a couple of deformed kits . surely as a breeder of any animal you should be looking at breeding 0% deformed offspring, rather than having the attitude of, well its only a couple deformed just because a deformaty dosent show, dont mean it aint there.... how many times have we heard over the last month, stories of, the jill ate the kitts at 8wks old!!!! whats wrong, with most answers being, its natures way..... maybe not,
  10. ferret15 beat me too it, yup its a silver, were the parents the same colour?, as you never mate silver to silver, that would explain lumps maybe?
  11. dont get me wrong, its a good alternative, but i presume to change the water the whole fitting needs to come of the cage, be turned upside down, re-filled then re put back on wire, plus it has an open water drinker, i can see it getting filled with sawdust the way the little stinkers run around the cage, meaning cleaning constantly at least my idea uses a normal bottle/drinker in a cheap to make wire cage, no mess, no constant cleaning
  12. quote;Whats the salt lick for the answer;is a LICK made of salt as mad say's, ferts always like to lick the salt that is in our sweat, so this way its there, should they want it 24/7
  13. in case anyone is wondering, the pink thing under the large water bottle is a salt lick...

    hi

why do elephants have big ears........... cos noddy would'ent pay the ransom
  15. glad you happy with them ferret15 jan (heds friend) picked hers up just after you and was delighted too, I now have 2 poley jills left, which are saved for wilf(forum member) for next weekend leaving me with the 4 kitts im keeping i'll post up a piccy or vid of the clan later 2 mums, castrated dad, smudge son of buster, he's getting big, minky, jill very very dark,a very very silver jill that i havent named yet?, and another silver jill that like her brother smudge, resembles the husky face of a dog, no name either?
  16. as promised, you should be able to see from the pictures, once cut and bent, hold the joins together with plastic ties, unless you have a hog ringer, the can then be either mounted to wall as shown, or even to a cage front and the bottle then faces opposite way
  17. just thought I'd stick this motor on here before it hit the bay of E, its an "r" reg with 69000 miles on the clock alloy wheels, 2 spares spoiler sunroof central locking/elec windows power steering has bout 9 months mot, but tax only to end of this month brought by myself from dealers when it was 3yrs old, burgandy colour always starts on the button, and in the last 4 months has had new windscreen new clutch new brakes all round 2 new front tyres new exhaust thats the good bitz, the bad bitz are small ding in front o/s wing(reversed onto a bollard), and crack in rear bumpe
  18. if one is that much larger, then do as I do with jills, to give them a place of sanctuary I place pipes to area's/nest boxes, that the hob cant fit through, may take you a bit of trial and error with some cardboard holes of different diameters, but should'ent be too hard to find out what one can fit through, but the other cant, then just cut that size hole into a spare resting box....sorted
  19. have just got in from working nights, and aint gonna go take a picture, but will post one later, take a piece of wire mesh prefebably 3/4 squares 14 holes width x 13 holes long you would then cut 5x5 holes from the two bottom corners and then bend the remaining into a box shape, fix to cage with plastic ties and the drinker fits inside, being only open at the top, no way of it being dislodged re reading that you still wont be any wisher, I'll post a piccy later
  20. must be a motherhood thing, my 2 silver sisters, both as tame as could be both had litters, now the remaining kits are 8weeks, yet 1 of the mums still drags them around and has started nipping me whenever she gets the chance, dont trust her at all now, will prob use her this year on the ferreting team, but if she dont improve????
