  1. any garden fence type paint, that say's you can wash the brushes in water will be ok, I'd go for a corrigated plastic on the roof, overwise felt is going to make the upper part of hutch really dark, corri-roof will give you plenty of light, and if they need shade, they have the hutch
  2. so all the chickens have well settled in, and are giving us around 7 eggs a day, so not bad, here's a picture of her favorite one "clucky"

  9. welcome mate, now you've introduced yourself, get posting in the "ferreting section" :welcomeani:
  10. if you aint already, get yourself Insured, public liability
  11. look at it another way, have you got the extra space for more ferts, you may be lucky in breeding her, and finding homes for all the kitts, your not going to become rich from selling kitts, so unless your breeding, so you can keep some back, to add to your working line, then I'd say get her in with a snipped hob, this year, out of 5 of my jills, Ive only put 2 with an intact hob, as I want to add to my workers, any bred not to my liking, will get sold on, the other 3 jills have already been with a couple of snipped hobs, and are already out of season
  12. welcome mate, you'd be better off, posting that question again in the rimfire section, and watch that caps lock on your typing, your all over the place, keep it small, capitols is SHOUTING
  13. the eggs can be stored, until you are ready to put them back under the hen, there was a story, couple of years back, about a guy who incubated some eggs from tesco's, and had chicks hatch
  14. good write up on ya web page hed's, added to my favorites, so I'll keep an eye on it
  15. when I first fired mine with the moderator/silencer, I thought it was'ent working its so quite its a great gun, as stated, its easy to pack away, I bought mine, as I rode to shoots by motorbike, and it was therefore Ideal, however its now left fully fitted in a proper gun case as I take the jeep, dont be put off by it, if you have a good offer on one, and its cheaper than say, a s410 carbine, then go for it, if however you can get a carbine cheaper, then knock it back
  16. I would have thought, you would have replaced the eggg's with dummy egg's, to make her continue laying?
  17. if you have the available funds, I'd suggest you buy a quickset longnet, hopefully get one thats already set up, then its quite easy, all you would do, is with basket around neck, place first pole in ground and walk backwards, the bag etc would already be set up for you, although I started with a normal longnet and seperate poles,

    priests

nothing wrong with using a priest, although I dont use one whilst ferreting, I do use one on the ferrel pidgeons whilst doing culling in my job,
  19. why boiled rabbit? gut it and either feed whole as is, or chop into chunks,
  20. different jills, different signs, although some jills show the signs, ie fat belly, teat size etc, others have remarked that they never knew the jill was pregnant untill the day she had them, keep a check to see how her behaviour is, in the sleeping compartment etc, I would have left the jill and hob together for days rather than hours
  21. no ones asked you how long your drive is? firing towards a public highway??
  22. you've probably tightened the mounts up to much, remember this is an optic, it has lenses inside it, are you doing them allen screws up, like a plumber doing up a pipe fitting you should gently and evenly screw them in, then give them a quarter nick turn,
  23. how long did you leave him with each jill?, I tend to leave them together for at least a week, to make sure its all ok, and so far 3 out of 3 have much reduced swelling, just 2 more to go
  24. it came of a bridge that we were re-netting, cant remember where, but I had about 6 rolls of the stuff, yea, approx 8x4, but its mostly all been used now, fert courts, cages etc, I can do you some 3/4x3/4 though in 8x4's, but its a lot heavier gauge
