  1. but, do I take that as a dig at me para your saying mods should give correct advice or not at all, as my only post on here, say's "same as pm", which refers to a private message I sent to ferreter216, giving a much more detailed answer, unless you have read that pm,which I doubt, you wont know what advice I gave will you the question has been asked, and I think ferreter216 has gotten the answer he needed, along with a couple of good pictures to refer back to, so were leave it there, shall we
  2. have you never heard of secondary poisoning
  3. I know exactually how you feel mate, me too
  4. I paired a jill up on the second week of last month, I always give a week for a successful mating, as although they may "mate" it's not a guarantee that it's taken, the swelling on my jill started going down about a week ago, and has now completely gone, she's the lightbulb shape, and you can tell just from picking up, that she's carrying a litter (support rear end when picking up) therfore I reckon a litter is due, first week of next month, give or take a day or two. Two jills that are with snipped hobs, are already out of season, and a third jill thats in there, has just come into season
  5. lads, this post is 6 months old
  6. that second quote don't really make sense, if he's given the snip, he can still get her preganant untill all the sperm is used that was in the tube, before the snip, but once he is firing blanks, he will bring her out of season, if left with an intact hob, the hob will get her preganant, she will then come out of season, the swelling will go down, she will look like a light bulb shape at back end
  7. and thats why you never send items, via "normal post" the extra pennies on recorded delivery are worth every penny
  8. I and the customer could see where they were gaining access, a very hard place to get to luckerly the guy had a "polish" builder as a tennant, so the attic was due a bit of tlc, as there was quite a bit of damage from "mum"

    what a sin

I must be a burstard, because I thought they were both classic
  10. a big thanks goes out to mole trapper for my first squirrel job, my work on the underground, tends to get me doing mouse/rat and pidgeon control, and also these in private jobs, mole trapper kindly passed my details to a customer living in london, with a squirrel, nesting and chewing up their attic, after setting traps and a couple of cups of coffee, we heard the familiar "snap" and had caught the mum, on inspection of the nest, only one youngster was found,

    BLOWPIPES

few years back, when me and the missus, and another 10 bikers went over to france for a 10 day tour, the "biker friendly" farm we were staying at, let us change out of our leathers, then informed us we were have a BBQ with games laid on (can buy anything in france) we were shown the games, that consisted of crossbows and blow pipes, we brought back one of the crossbows, seems customs never check bikers
  12. I dont know if it would stress the animals out, my ferret court is about 3' away from the chicken coop, and neither chickens or ferts are bothered by each other, in fact, a fert got out last week, and walked straight past the chickens
  13. but are you going to do anything about it,?! either a snipped hob, or the jill jab or just hoping that by keeping the hutch clean, she won't pick up an infection
  14. we used to get plenty of foxes in the garden, and I even used to feed them the odd bit of rabbit, but then I started trying something I saw on river cottage, pee'ing around the garden, and aint seen them since
  15. welcome mate, alot of newbies make the mistake of asking questions in this section, only for them not to get answered, as not everyone looks in here, this is mearly for an introduction of yourself, as suggested, try posing your question again, in the trapping and pest control section
  16. well, this topic certainly stirred things up, if anyone read the first post, they will realise it was something I had seen, and copied making, along with a safe way of carrying, but had not yet used it, in the field, yes, I had described its use wrongly, but on re-checking, relaided on, that it was used on dead rabbits, rather than alive one's but look at the amount of hits, this one topic has seen, over one thousand, three hundred so, just to let everyone that has left a comment, good or bad know, it will keep its place on my longnet basket, and should the need ever arise to use it,
  17. granted, if someone was caught carrying that around on its own, the police may have something to say about it, but if your carrying that, plus all your other ferreting gear, plus in my case my BPCA card, proving Im a bona-fide pest controller, then I doubt they would even ask
  18. you'll notice, if you read all the post's, I was mistaken on watching the dvd, thinking that it was used to get live rabbits out, on re-watching the dvd, it's clear they are using it to reach, dead rabbits, killed by the ferts at the very end of a stop end, after reaching and removing a couple of live ones by hand
  19. will be ferreting about once a month, on a permission I have for a parish, purely pest control, but of course, its all food for the ferts, as bigredbusa say's, they still need feeding, if not more, this time of year, need to keep the freezer full
  20. try doing a search or asking in the longnet section maybe
  21. touchy touchy marshman, they were only having a laugh because of the way you described it, if you hav'ent got a sense of humour, you won't last long here Im affraid
  22. ooo, have I started a fad have since taken the above advice and boarded those wires in, behind a flame retardent board, havent done the hole/wood/flue bit yet, but will get round to that too, need to extend the outside pipe and make up a chimney of sorts and although I painted the flue in black heatproof manifold paint, its started to crack/blister, so next job, third or fourth coat of paint, dunno weather to keep the burner origanal blue, or try painting that too
  23. must be my eye's, but I only count four?
