  1. at this time of year, we normally see post's from members saying, the jill has eaten the kitts, and lots of replies on "reasons" I think, the jills know best, I had one of my young jills, due her litter yesterday, but on the 40th day, noticed she was making some right weird noises, and spending lots of time near the "shit corner" she then went on to drop/pass an embryo, eat the afterbirth, and leave it there, of course all this hapopened with me watching, I removed the kitt (still in sac) and removed the sac myself, trying to get the kitt breathing, twice I popped it into the nest area, only
  2. maybe thats why Im losing my hair, ate too many eggs as a kid seriously, have used DOC's myself to feed BOP'S and ferrets and have never seen a down side to it, a varied diet is the spice of life
  3. I thought the same when I got my pestie job, and got a webley hurricane would be better off chucking it at them
  4. Ive had heck of a job finding saddles to fit
  5. has the council in question, got its own pest control section? maybe get a few relations/friends to phone the council, complaining about the rabbits on said ground, and how its the councils responsability to control them, then phone the council a few days later offering your services again, free of charge you would need public liability insurance though, members of the public etc

    longnet basket

    looks well smart mate have you got the net for the basket, if not, give me a shout (pm) Ive got some sparrow netting that will fit on that lovely as per picture;
  7. bourne is best, and that comes from an old james bond fan
  8. very good use of an old finch aviary mate I like the Idea
  9. but even using a ferret, how can you guarantee everythings bolted
  10. I too have a simular shoot permission, with same results, I'd say, do as I did, FERRET the bunnies out
  11. Interesting to watch, and for cooking a good idea, but for using as ferret food, he's thrown away the good bits, kidneys/liver/heart and lungs
  12. out of interest, how many members do you currently have at £55 a hit
  13. maybe you'd get a better responce if you filled out your profile/location etc,
  14. how are you picking them up?? are you using both hands and supporting the rear end?, if not, this could be the reason for the wriggle
  15. ferrets are clean by nature, and will "mess" as far away from bedding, food, etc, so I would say, place food at top, hope they mess, bottom right corner
  16. I reckon you cant, Im not the greatest at legislation, but looking at the wildlife and countryside act 1981, section 16, mist nets are not aliowed unless under license, now I know a longnet isi'nt a mist net, but your wanting to use it in the same principal
  17. have you looked in the pinned post, top of section, to find someone near you? think you may need longer than a week,
  18. in my defence, mines not sited in a field, its on top of the ferret run, just to see if it works, and I still have faith it will, we have lots of maggies coming into the garden to pinch odd bits of rabbit left out for the rurual/urban fox, but as ditch say's, there's not enough hours in a day, what with trying to assemble a concrete garage, tend to the ferts, plus the 101 other things you have to do, I keep walking past it and thinking, I'll make a mock nest in there, with a few chickens egg's, maybe this weekend
  19. look in the airgun section, theres a pinned post at the top of page for shooting permission, maybe use that, just swapping the word "shooting" for ferreting
  20. getting them both CASTRATED will stop them fighting in the breeding season, check the price you were given, was for castration rather than vasectamised, but you'd need both done, otherwise one would still get the urge, and try mating the other
