  1. Nice view, it reminds me of a similar one from the Gibet on the Berkshire downs. .....shame about the bike being in the way.
  2. Not as good as kenny14's, but this is a blue winged olive, just hatched from the river and still with a wing furled under for some reason.
  3. I look at it this way... If a farmer phones me up and says "I'm getting hammered by pigeons, on the turnips I have just sown etc the first thought in my head, isn't...."If I have a good days work and shoot 150 pigeons, wtf am I going to do with them" It is more like "yes, I will get up as soon as I can" (before somebody else gets the job) I might then end up with a load of pigeons, that I might not have a market for......... Now..getting 20p for each of those birds, at least pays for the ammo!! No brainer if you can't get them shifted within an hour of leaving the field.
  4. He isnt robbing you, he is offering you money for a carcass. If you dont like it, dont take him up on the offer, but dont slate him for it. He is being upfront, and not hiding anything. Look at ebay, and car boots, and business in general, people are all taking their little piece out of the going rate. I
  5. Good luck in your quest for info, as I am sure that many are aware generally of the good work carried out by the lovat scouts and some of the reputed stalking skills, that the scottish stalkers gave to the war effort.
  6. 6 month jail sentence for 'illegal course fishing' wtf Good. That should stop those f**kers that keep knicking all the carp etc, for food!
  7. So what exactly would you use your hounds for then.........legally.
  8. Just check format compatible before you buy. I know Windows 8 movie maker does far more formats than XP for example. Looking forward to some interesting footage.
  9. Strong colours, and as said before, shepherds pie and all that! Just feckin rain clouds up north.
  10. I use "shooter" by Sean Kennedy, and "strelok" both of which are good apps. ....however they are only as good as the information you put in!
  11. I use a Jack Pyke dog handlers vest for ferreting, as it has loads of pockets for nets etc, and I cannot grumble, as it does the job. As for waterproofs, I am not sure, but I am sure you get what you pay for.
  12. Takes me well over an hour, but they are good nets, and I always taper them, so that means lots more concentration for me!! Probably do them a bit quicker if I didn't double knot.
  13. Start and finish with 9, out to 15, and 21 long. Ideal for what I need, and I always have a few 4/5 ft pokes.
  14. A good bag there, and some nice looking dogs.
  15. i'll try and do some more uploading soon, gonna have to invest in a better camera as the one i have is just a cheep pc world camera probably made in china!. resolution settings on it are rubbish. it seems many people are into u tube now so will have to have a bash at trying editing software also. i shot a fox with the .22lr velocitors many months ago at yards in the chest, the bullet came out the other side so not really expanding enough. ballistic tip ammo is definetly a better option for dedicated fox shooting imo (unless its a shoulder shot with hmr ballistic tip ). however if your lam

  17. two blondes walked into a building..... you'd think at least one of them would have seen it..!
  18. Between Earth and Paradise is another one of his good reads. Fascinating fella though who made friends and loved the marsh Arabs of Iraq, the very people saddam hussain hated. (if my memory serves me correctly)
  19. Yep read them and got them in my library. In about 1979/80, I had the chance to meet him, as a family friend knew him really well. I wasn't bothered at the time, and I have regretted it ever since!
  20. It's nice to get some good news! ATB.
