  1. Bet they eat loads of them, when the pike get that big. Hope the pike didnt get wasted, but I somehow think it will have done!
  2. Give him a pillow!!
  3. Thanks Seprim, it was slightly different to a usual night lamping. For a second I almost felt guilty shooting it, with its head and shoulders underground, but, that's vermin control.

Too many on here want something for nothing, but they are probably the same ones who take everything out of life without putting back in. Well said Tomo:)
  6. I'm not sure, I nearly always see them on their own, but we occasionaly see 2 in the garden, but never together.
  7. That right, even the roads were quiet last night.
  8. Apparently the little buggers will fight to the death over territories
  9. Just come back in from a quick look out for a fox that has taken a few pheasants and a couple of ducks. Its been chucking it down up here for most of the last few days, the rivers are flooded, the roads are flooded and the drains are lifting. Something said we werent going to have much luck, but with a fox on the ground it had to be done. A drive along the bottem of the valley produced nothing in the howling wind and we could barely hear our own calls and squeeks, still the lamp cut through the rain ok and luckily for once there was no hill fog. We came back along the top of the woods,
  10. +1. If you cut it green though its easy to srtip the bark straight off them if you want, as it very often wrinkles and cracks anyway. You are then left with neat little pegs. Cutting them later and the bark is ok.
  11. I had to have words with my lad. It really was very tame but he still said "should have brought my catapult" He got a quick bit of re-education
  12. I do believe that "paps" are actually a gaelic word for "breasts" which make the photos even nicer to look at!
  13. Glock make a great folding spade that I use sometimes which can be set at 3 different angles so it can be used as a spade, a shovel or a pick. It has an expendable polymer shaft with a heavy duty wood saw in handle. Can sometimes be found in ex army surplus. Great if you want to travel light. Will stick a pic up later if you want.
  14. Remember as well, that what you can do on the practice range, in ideal conditions, wont neccesarily be what you will achieve in the heat of the moment in the field.
  15. Further than you will be able to hit one! It all depends on your skill, the weather, the backstop, the bullet etc, but if you are knew to rifle shooting, practice and practice on a target at different ranges and different positions and in different weather conditions, and you will soon get an idea of what you the rifle and the ammo can do. If I cant hit a 5cm circle at a given distance, I wont try whacking a fox at it. Same with a deer but you have a slightly larger kill zone for me.
  16. Sounds better than just hooking them onto brambles to stop the runs. Get your mate to take a pic for you.
  17. I've got the TZ30 I think it is, but you wont go wrong with any of them as they all have the superb Leica lens.
  18. Cragrats everywhere on a nice day like this spoken like a true cragrat nice little terrier your lads holding. i hate midges they eat me alive. i itch for weeks after midge bites. i hope you didnt make your lad suffer to much . nice pics Thanks, and coming from Scotland you will know all about midges! Haha, you mean who wouldn't get pissed off at opening anti vehicle barriers, and then 2 large wrought iron gates, for 1 man on a bike, when he could just go through a small side gate! Is this what its all come to! Get real, they wouldn't do it for a normal member of the public, why should they do it for him. Who said it was the same copper each time anyway ffs.
