I certainly wouldn't put ferrets your way if you ditch them just because they are difficult. Handle it properly and give it time, you've been using gloves so it won't even know your scent. What willdo if you get latched onto by an excited ferret down a stop end, leave it there? If you can't invest the time in handling a ferret properly then get a different hobby like badminton, that way you only have to worry about the rackets when you get them out of the cupboard. If its only a pet and it was bought for his daughter whats the problem. He isnt talking about abandoning it. Hamster

Make your mind up PJ, first you say: "you must be under no illusions when you sign on the line as to what you might face". then you say: "Just a shame they were lured into an ambush the way they were. RIP"

Anyone using grenades and firearms to kill anyone and luring them to their deaths in such a cold blooded way is always going to get life. Being police officers has nowt to do with it!

Report of burglary not gunshot, according to sky news.

Not everything that initially gets reported is how it happened. I am sure this story will develop.

My thoughts are with the family of the cops. Spineless, cowardly, murdering, barsteward!

I must have mis-understood I thought he was after a bipod not a set of shooting sticks I know, they have two legs so they must be a bipod......mmmm. Except the one shown above is a tripod. Lol. Like to see a hill stalker stand up out of the heather and use that. Although for woodland they would be ideal.

Moxy,I didn't mean to call you Mixy....sorry pal, bloody phone!

Mixy, I don't use gps to mark traps, I simply answered the question as to whether it could be. I use and train the use of gps as part of my job, so I understand the pros and cons of them quite well, which is why I said there are easier ways of doing it, unless you are very familiar with them. I personally mark them or draw a rough sketch if I can't mark them, but that in all honesty isn't often. ATB.

You don't need a map just for marking the position of something, unlike it is a good idea to have a map if you are navigating your way around the countryside. They are reliable though and it is really only dense leave cover that sometimes causes loss of satellite signal in the open, or being surrounded by mountains means you may lose the horizon sats. Hope this helps, and a cheapish sat nav will still work ok.

Minox were putting out a good set earlier on in the year that was quite compact and I think was in that budget. I can't remember the mag, but I think it was either an 8 or 10x. Away from computer at mo so can't check.

Skyscapes are great imo, and that's ok -
I'm left handed but have always preferred a right handed bolt as it is far quicker for follow up shots, as you can keep strong hand on the grip. Good choice of rifle though pal.
-
Yes that should be easy enough. ATB.

I use 6-9" Deben on all rifles, never had a problem with Deben bipods and the get used almost daily. Mate has just bought an Edgar brothers one, which looks spot on aswell.

The only issue we have with the ones we use at work, (garmin Legend) is that unless the lads are using them all the time, they struggle when locating multi waypoints in very close proximity to each other. If running a fenn trap line it would certainly be easier, but it will only put you within a few metres and imo, with a heavily trapped mole field, which is different to a trapping line, there are easier ways to do it. It is not impossible though, so all the best. The other thing that happens with hand held units is that the exact accuracy of them can alter as well, which can be evidenced when

Never fished it, but there is loads of crayfish, roach and pike in the strech of water that runs alongside the white water centre. Its crystal clear and in the right light you can see quite deep into the water.
-
I think you will struggle pal, No suitable land, and no permanent address, and as for the depression I expect the cops would have to take advice from your Doctor, but I wouldnt hold your breath with that one. Why do you want one if you havent got the land to use one?
-
Yes you can, but you have to know how to use and how to read your gps accurately. Easy if your traps are spread out, but not as easy if you have quite a few in a small area. Have you considered doing a quick sketch or map as to where they are roughly, or using markers, but always putting them 5 paces in the same direction away from the traps. That should then make them harder to find. That last tip above stopped mine getting pinched on one particular field earlier this year.
