Cheers Mate

Cheers lads Your right there Sirius, it was great to get stuck into a few....

Really interesting read Brimmer, we definitely try to keep moving down here bolting the rabbits......digging costs time... Mostly ferret hedges, which are deep and rough, it's normally through roots and rock so digging is a last resort..... It's nice to read about different ways mate, ATB Kev

Good read mate, looks a trek but some nice looking warrens at the end of it...

Cheers Chris, that's Sean's border mate, he's a cracking little dog, really steady...... Cheers Bill, Yeah we all done a few miles of running the long nets yesterday mate...... I had to endure a fair bit of piss taking when I ran about yrds to grab one and pushed it out of the net when I got there.... b*****ds enjoyed that.... Like I said the day was laid on from Sean plus Sam and Mark and we were very grateful for a great day....

Cheers lads for all the replies Sean, I was waiting for you to come on and let it slip about Marks early exit lol..... It's funny how it coincided perfectly with digging a pit and gutting a load of rabbits lol..... Sam There's was some good laughs all day, me and mark watched the first rabbit that bolted on the first hedge run right through the long net at about 30mph.... It had found the only hole in the net perfectly rabbit sized lol I spoke to the lad about the chicken farm today, we'll sort a day out up there, maybe over Christmas if you boys fancy a change of scenery Chee

That looks a craking day Chris, dogs look well Cheers Kev

Cheers lads Stealthy: He was superb mate, stayed busy all day, he'd never used long nets before but got stuck in with the purse nets and helped gut the rabbits a the end of the day.... he even helped me dig the pit for the guts... I think he really enjoyed it...... I'm sure he slept well last night though

A couple of months back Sean C, had got in touch and asked if I could give him a hand on a bit of land which was "pickled", we arranged it for yesterday and after our conversations with sean telling me " Kev there's hundreds there" I couldn't wait to get going. With Micky picked up at 7am we were on the run down following the sat nav..... to completely the wrong place .... a quick call and spin around and we met the team for the day at around 8 am, there would be 6 of us at it today, Sean, Mark and Sam, me and Mick plus the land owner, Dave, who used to ferret 30 years ago and wanted a day o

Any fighter will tell you calendar years will not show as much wear and tear as miles on the clock do...............Benn and Eubank had far more miles on the clock than Collins did when they met. That's what I was trying to say gnash, lol
-
I would say Benn and Eubank had had a few more battles than Collins by the time they had met, not just with each other, that was a strong weight when they were in they're prime... Some of those fights would've took it out of you more than age....
-
My first dog was called Hagler, I was about 8 I reckon, loved him as a kid...... Benn v Macelland one of the best fights I've ever seen, definitely enjoyed benn and Eubank more than Collins,

Good post Sirius, I know I don't test my little dog hard enough to give her the chance to fail ( as such), but I know she would not compete with a well bred bigger lurcher, we ran collie/ greyhound xs growing up and they done it all really.... Although mine has a bit of beddy in the mix, she's still whippet like in size and shape, her main fault is her poor retrieve, and the points you make are valid on this point, for me at least... Her real strengths are the obvious ones, speed off the mark, and turns on a sixpence, she catches well I the lamp to be fair to her..... But I will be bringi
-
My 3/4 whip 1/4 beddy, is without doubt limited due to her size, she turns her hand to all aspects of rabbiting but in my eyes that what she is a rabbiting dog, you would be foolish in my eyes to think a 19" light weight dog could carry out the same sort of work as a 25" purpose bred lurcher..... But around the ferrets or on the lamp she always puts a few in the bag....... It sounds to me Baw that your first love requires a bigger dog....

There are small loopholes etc where if a person inhabits some land or builds a fence round it or something like that after x amount of years (12 i think) it belongs to the person who has taken it. Milegajo am sure will know the laws more though. I have a house full of stuff i no longer have receipts for but it doesnt mean someone can come and help themselves... I just know from looking at BUYING land to build a small place on in the last few years how difficult it is..... I've talked to alot of people on different loopholes in the laws, depending on types of land etc, put a log cabi

I agree we all do a lot of things we shouldn't, but I personally do all I can to give my children the protection they need, setting up home where you know you shouldn't be and holding out for the heavies to come and turf you out, doesn't really give the young uns a stable home life..... I'm genuinely interested if Miles really believed he could make a permanent base in the land he set up on.... I'm sure there was talk of a small dwelling ( hobbit house) being built on the site...
-
I'm sure as all fathers he has his childrens best interest at heart, and maybe the caravan was a stop gap until he had built his Hobbit house..... surely the point is you can't roll up onto some land, take it as your own, start with a caravan, whilst you build an Eco house....... or am I missing something
