  1. Cheers lads, Clive A few lads are up for a trip off here, I've wanted to organise one but ran out if time for a summer trip.. After Christmas until end if feb will be good for some really big pollack. I might just book the boat for 4 or 5 trips through the year I could cover places anyway and if a few off here come it'll be a bonus.
  2. After months of trying to sort the date we finally got out yesterday. Cushtymush had bid £.00 and won a day out on a local charter boat ( rose-ann out of Exmouth), now the pressure was on to produce a fish.!! It was an early start (5-30 from mine), Pete was early texting me at 5 to say he was outside, as usual before fishing/ hunting ( anything but work really) I hadn't slept and was exited to get going, Pete had brought his lad for the experience, the kit was already loaded and we were off. At the harbour the Chinese were already up and fishing for anything they can catch to be put in the m

  5. Lives are by far the best at teingmouth mate. Fish some of the rock marks towards Torquay, hopesnose, berry head, ansteys cove or meadfoot with the artificials you may have more success, or mare rocks at Exmouth, fish 2hrs down to low water and 2hrs up.. Early morning or evening tides are best.. Try the live eels late into the evening and into dark on either estuary. Keep at it they'll come

  7. While i admit to being one of those pushy parents who are shit themself ....it was certainly nothing to do with ego,my boy signed schoolboy forms with Leyton Orient and probably had the talent to make a decent pro unfortunately he just didnt have the hunger and desire...... i just couldnt understand that myself and we fell out over it but i think its the most natural thing in the world to want to encourage our kids to succeed in something we love ourself......we just need to know where to draw the line and i didnt unfortunately. You say your lads not a natural but does a kid have to be ?......
  8. Well done to your lad, all the best to him for the future and I hope it all works out for him mate..

  10. My dad has a place in Crete, it's split into 2 apartments. With the big crash in Greece, it's become a bit of a millstone IMO. He diesnt use it as much as he did, and desnt actively rent it, it's there for the family as and when really. The big problem is it's not that easy to get too, and flights can be a bit costly, infact he'll often buy a budget holiday and bin the hotel cause the flights are more expensive than a package. If if was me I think Portugal or France I think, probably Portugal would be favourite, down around sargress anywhere west of Alvor really, and up the west coast a b
  11. I Played football from 9 years old, right through to last season and played at the best level my ability allowed, I was getting a little bit of cash from 15 years old playing western league and I loved every minute of playing, socialising, and making some of the best mates I've got. My lads not a natural but he's 9 he goes soccer school every Wednesday, and enjoys it, I've never pushed him at all, if he turned round tomorrow and said " dad I don't enjoy it" I'd stop it straight away. I've watched the pushy parents in the side line, half have never played or are shit so live it through their

  16. Oh and landing fish, I tend to beach them, although a net maybe useful from time to time. I always wade out too, you can get better control of the eel as it's running through the tide when your out in the water. My lad out in the water on the back beach
  17. Definetly the best month mate, and there are a few about, as geth( white van man) said, try and use live eels off of teingmouth back beach, or walk out into the spit at the mouth of the river at low tide, fish with the braid and a 3ft leader ( fluro carbon is best 6-10lb breaking strain) attach the leader with a swivel and free line the eel in the current. It'll fish up and down the tide, but you need it moving, look for creases in the tide, back eddys, boiling water you get an idea if where's to run it through after a few tries. Keep the eel moving with the tide ( like running a float through
