Same here Ken, As kids you knew how to build a den by the time you were 10, A den, a fire and a fish.... Oh and you'd normally find a stash of old porn mags somewhere to hide in your den lol
-
It's been a while since I built a den, so I took the kids up the woods and built this, They loved it... But not as much as me, nothing like den building to bring the kid out in you!! Lol

Excellent John, should've gone in the mags. Looks like it's going to grow again next year, nice little do this one!!

Well the estuary nursery zones for the bass have worked to a degree, although I think a well policed bag limited would be the best way forward. It's greed all round that has had such a detrimental affect on stocks, you see lads filling boxes of plaice do they need all of it? Look at how the mackerel get hit, hundreds taken on feathers, fish light with a spinner and catch a dozen or so, loads more fun and looks after stocks... Unfortunately people are greedy. I think a year lay off on the skerries would be great, but can't see the revenue it gives wound allow it, so a bag limit again would

Sounds like your finding a few fish then mate, nice one. Bonito!! That's a first for me, that would be fun on light gear I reckon!!

I've been meaning to get down for a day with you mate, this summers just flown by with stuff on most weekends. I'll book a trip out with you though I lie he fishing down that way. Your right about the fishing it's changed everywhere, for the worst, when you see the amount if small commercial baits hammering the bass shoals on the inshore wrecks and some of them are ex charter skippers! It's bound to have an effect on the size and amount of fish in the end mate. The lads I was out with on Sunday had fished the skerries a month back, the had odd fish and although not really big they were ni

Come on man up Remy, your a desert island surviving hero on this site now, stamp your authority, show her who's boss.. Then drag the pot lickers out to kill some shit... !!!

I fished the Skerries about 25 years ago, the skippers who fish there are the best I have ever been out with. We fished it in March and the Plaice even though plentiful were not really in good condition as they had just spawned. That said we still had plaice to 3lb to the boat. I bet they are in primes condition at the moment though. TC Yeah they're good skippers down there mate, Dave Harrison on Gemini is one of the best I've been out with, the plaice are nice and plump now not like the spent early season fish..

Definitely Bry, The summers flown by again, I'll be down for the cod and not the bass the way it's going!! There's been so e good plaice fishing on the skerries the last month or so, a mate of mine had 83 between 3 of them a few weeks back!! How's your fishing been going mate?

2 years doing the THL fishing comp mate, some lads just come for the social and dont fish it's a good do!! Up to Ossie and Arch where it'll be next year, it's been on the 3rd weekend of August the last couple of years. Hopefully it'll be on again next as John said it's raised a lot of money for Mcmillan and Make a wish, plus it's a good craic with not a cross word either year.

Cheers Lads I'll get a couple of dates and put them up then. It's around £600 to book the boat for the day and fishes 10 so £60.00 each. I've got a fair few rods and reels I'd be happy to loan, the skipper would probably charge a fiver or so to hire out rods, not too sure as most take their own. He has loads of tackle on board which is cheaper to buy than the shops and I've goty a load which I'd help out with. There is some really good winter pollack fishing best I've had is 19lb best I've seen is 23lb but there a lot of 10-14lb fish caught after christmas which are good sport and p

Brilliant read remy bolt, really enjoyed that. TV and drugs aren't my thing either... A few weeks doing exactly what you experienced would really be up my street though.
