  1. You will have better chance using a barking springer in the breeding.for the hound side a good beagle or beagle harrier.i wouldnt use a mute springer if I could help it,if you want the pups barking well.
  2. And if they were in ground 40 mins toghether and if still the bad c**ts came out then its time for new ones
  3. 'Twas a rabbit that had just watched the mcgregor fight I'd say
  4. Never seen anything with beddy in it myself but heard poor reports,I have seen a good few with deerhound and all were cowardly half hearted culls.might do for a few rabbits but for foxes etc not a hope over here in Ireland anyway.
  5. We put a fox into a farm shed stacked full of bales with harriers around 10 years ago,ran my terrier bitch who was hard and heard no more for a while.the grey box we had then didn't seem to work in the bales so we listened and one of the lads thought he heard something so we went down from the top, these were small square bales.the bitch had him caught at floor level and when we got down he was dead but she was fuked, which wasn't her normal form. The heat inside was savage and it was hard for us to draw breath never mind the terrier.the outcome that day was good but it could of easily been bad,t
  6. I normally try to keep 2,the ideal plan is one slowing down and one coming up.i do some lamping foxes not loads but main thing for me is hunting out covers by day for foxes.i like to test a dog with lots of work if I can, from age 2 on I try to see what they are really made of to see if they are worth breeding from.i also keep a few beagle crosses and the lads I hunt with do the same.we catch a fair few foxes every season by lurcher and digging but if you count other lads lurchers out then for me one lurcher is enough to have out to see what they are made of,giving a dog multiple foxes every we
  7. As i attempted to say and you clearly amplify its easy enough to own a busher and any nugget as the aptitude for at least one in 35 years, well done. As I said keep your shite for those who will listen, the only outlet for your kind is the Internet,in real life you would not be tolerated,so once again piss off.
  8. Ok boy,but I am keeping dogs 35 years and have been round the block many times,so I have no interest in listening to your oul shite talk.keep your "advice" for the younger gullible lads.
  9. Good springer beagle hard to beat in cover.good teagle hard to beat too but I had great luck with springer beagles.all of them hunted just a few were silent and a couple lazy to search but they won't all make it.your right there. We'd a couple of mute ones aswell. Break your heart they would. The teagles I try steer clear tbh. We'd a few over the years who went aground. Most of the time they were to big and got stuck. So we'd end up digging them out half way up a tube. The ones that didn't drop were worth keepn. Just my opinionYa we had a very good teagle a few years ago, hunt away all day and

  11. Well bred bull hounds and wheaten hounds(the ones that make the grade) will try their guts out on their job, that is foxes, night and day and terriers.saluki dogs not in the same league,I never saw a saluki six foot down and upside down and never saw a bull hound knockin hares every day so no comparison
  12. I wouldn't worry about the size, plenty small dogs would shame big dogs.ive a small little bitch here is 8 and not swap her for any dog on foxes.best of luck with the pups.
  13. pretty border, how did that dogs season go?was he well tested this year at his work?
  14. A great old terrier bitch l had died aged 15 and was buried around 2 foot deep behind the kennels at the side of a ditch, within a few days a fox dug her up,pretty much one of the only foxes that ever came in contact with her and lived to tell the tale.
  15. If you can at all get it delivered ready mixed,it will save you the world of hardship.1 metre works out around 155ish delivered unless you live away out rural then maybe add 15/20 euro.thats for 25n,30n a few quid more.
  16. Most of ye seem happy to settle with what ye end up with,no mention of a dog not making the grade.ye seem to tailor yer expectations according to the ability of the dogs ye have.that is bollix.if ye had high standards and only kept dogs that met the standards you expect there would be a lot less shite around and there wouldn't be anybody trying to use a fukin ridgeback to hunt cover.thank god this website doesn't reflect real life because every retard with access to a computer seems to be here but thank god people like this would not be entertained in real life on a days hunting, probably why t
  17. I've had dogs, I've ran dogs. You have plodders, you run the mouth even more so. Facts are you're a prick, man up and show me these plodders in all their slow glory. I've met your kind before,if you have no dog how the fcuk can you be entitled to give an opinion on someone else's dog.piss off you fool,I can just picture you sitting there in your smelly flat monitoring what goes on here.
  18. The fox was on deaths door for whatever reason even before those two curs got near him, those Salukis remind me of deerhounds.
  19. I only looked at the first half of the first video, did you put up the clip to show how great you think they are or to show how utter shite they actually are?i would chop my fingers off before I would give those yokes a nights shelter, let alone feed them.
  20. I have them and the ones I keep are good but I often reared a bad one as well,so I would say they are much the same as anything else.some great some useless, some average.breeding is everything as with all working dogs.if your spaniel in the cross barks it is a help because a fair few springer beagles have poor or no voice even if hunting well, but when you get a good one with the drive for cover and voice they are hard to beat, most are easier to control than pure hounds, have more of a brain and search cover better but would not hold a line cross country as well as a hound.they are ideal for hun

  22. Yes she is a cracker just wish I had more time for her More time or more like her to flog at £250 a pop for mongerals and that is just what they are like it or not.Why dont you give it free to someone that will bush with it instead of making coin out of it,thats a ridiculas price for such a dog, over here we give them away free.250 is mad money for a pup but fools pay it,but a right good barking springer beagle seasoned dog would make 400 up here.
  23. I've the sleeping area ceilings done with 2 inch thick aeroboard, when you open the doors to the sleeping areas you can feel the heat inside, walls are block on edge and box profile roof and the ceiling is the only insulation.the sheets 8x4 are very cheap at builders providers.
