Cover dog for working with runners.
derekbrown replied to Ideation's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Springer/beagle crosses suit us,hunt hard all day and plenty of voice.breeding is everything as in all working dogs.a lot of shite out there. Sounds interesting, any pics? Does the spaniel cut down on the beagle running too far ahead? Like i said - im surprised there are not folk out there with good tested lines of bushers, rather than pure breeds or first x's. Well the spaniel does cut down on them running on but if they are any good they will hunt on to a certain extent.I have a springer here that would be no good to a shooting man but i have her steady and obedient and she wi -

no its tramore rd by ballypehane.its a golf supplies shop across road from junction below the manhatten bar.i use one and they are good in fairness.but to make them last you should charge it back up straight after you use it,they last years then.
-
the mocad shop on tramore road lad.new 22ah sealed lead acid with a guarantee is around 75 euro.once you recharge after use will last you years and will give you plenty hours of lamping even running a 100w bulb like whats in a lf 170 or 240.

you must be 1 off the huntinglife hard men ay,some boy you,i wouldnt mess with you so i wouldnt f**k yourself ya prick.i have good single handed fox dogs, nothing to do with being a hard man.i don't keep a dog unless its 100%.what do you have?i thought this place was about those who keep working dogs not muppets who keep culls because they are too cowardly to do the right thing.i often had dogs that didn't make the grade but i haven't them now.keep shite and you will never have f**k all.
-
why would anybody keep a 3/8 5/8 dog for rabbits.there is a lot more light and agile dogs for rabbits.if the dog not good enough for foxes stop being a pussy and put down the dog.the amount of ye fannys that keep shite is amazing,ye will never have f**k all with that attitude,ye better off keeping pets but thats what a lot of ye do anyway.
-
good start for the pup fair enough but nothing is proven yet.plenty start well but then go backwards so don't over excite yourself.best of luck though and time will tell.
-
well lad if it was that simple wouldn't it be great.
-
lot of lads lamping now and a lot running poor dogs out that are only educating the foxes.we have a good many caught on lamp this season but have had our share of poor nights too.out for 3 hours this week didn't even get a run but one spot we called last week and nothing showed we hunted with the teagles and killed 5 with the lurchers,so there you go.

Remember the good old days when peoples and dogs reputations were built on actual happenings witnessed by others and not by some plonkers telling lies and posting photos on the internet.Pre internet forums, idiots were not tolerated by anybody, now all these fools can sit at a keyboard and invent reputations for themselves and fill other idiots with their own shite and post photos that any knowlegable dog man would never dream of doing. The internet hasn't much to offer fieldsports as it draws all the misfits and muppets that in the real world few people have time for.

why wont my dog go to groung
derekbrown replied to bigoy19706's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
well lad its most likely because the dog is no good but i would still wait to make sure that he is not just dopey like.if no good the only way is shoot the b*****d.best of luck.over here a dog mite get 3 chances,in uk 100 chances,a gay name and even when proven useless,a home for life wit a sentimental kunt. -
not at all,if the dog has it in him he will start at 15/16 months no problem.no point in nursing dogs, they will do it or they wont
-
start her in a month on a couple of this years foxes, she will probably get bitten but wont be as severe as a big one in december or january.give her the first few with an older dog.after that you wont be long finding out is she worth feeding or not.

hunting deer with dogs in Ireland
derekbrown replied to lurcher330's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
very illegal. -
Another lad who has no work done with dogs but gets all his misinformation from the internet and books ill bet.I wouldnt know personally as it is illegal but i could imagine that many a single handed bull or wheaten cross dog who would be an excellent fox dog could be easily knocked sensless by an angry fallow buck or even a doe that kicked back hard as she was ran.Bye the way,i think back till last year to the pic of the two little bedlington/whippet things and the fallow buck hanging next to them,id say that buck had bigger shits than those small hairy wasters.

Not too long ago nobody in this part of the world would of known or cared about these peoples filthy practices. In my opinion these people have colonised and made britain worse and a lot of blame lies with the political system that allows this to take place.Ireland is the same unfortunatley, for many years these parasites were invited in to the country, given money and housing while irish people had to wait behind these b*****ds,all because the irish government were afraid to refuse the black man in case they were accused of being racist.

well lad we use a small pack of springer/beagles and teagles.we don't use pure beagles or harriers because we hunt smallish covers to push out foxes to catch with lurchers.our crossbred dogs would never carry a hunt as far or as well as a pure hound, but we don't want them to.they are very good to try cover and find which is more than can be said for many hounds.if we had pure hounds hunting on for miles we would not be able to try nearly as many covers and we would get less runs for the lurchers and catch less.
-
are things very strict over there permission wise lads?over here most just pull up at a spot and hunt it,99 times out of 100 there is never a problem.
-
shows don't interest me but this dog a bag of nerves and could never be used during season on different nights with different dogs and men around. Those nervous things are always a liability,i know it will upset the supposed hunting men on here who give their doggies 3 years to mature and buy them expensive collars and call them my boy or my girl etc.but the best thing is shoot the b*****d.
-
well lad, well bred pups aren't even 100% guaranteed to make it so please tell everybody how his tricoloured rubbish are expected to make it.i think your grade is a lot different to my grade. i didn't think that colour had any effect on a dog's working ability. it doesn't lad but when a fool advertises black and white and TRICOLOUR patterdales for 200 a worthless pup,my first thought is to let any young lads reading his lies and deceit that they should avoid his rubbish.also in case you dont know any better, patterdales dont come in tricolour.this fool has no interest in working

me these days is mostly lamping foxes and hunting covers by day but i did a lot of digging for many years but when i was young i listened a lot, learned and took in all the knowledge i could.i was lucky that there was good older men who passed on stuff to us.we learned through practical experience and learnt slowly over time.i must say though that if we were as arrogant and know it all as some young guys these days we would not have been tolerated and would have been told stay at home.their is plenty of young lads with the right attitude but too many who think they know it all and don't respect
-
i am sure you don't know the man as you can't spell his surname properly. Also the man you speak of is known more for his excellent working lakeland type dogs.If you're the kind who likes to drop names son at least learn to spell them first, good lad.
-
only for the fact that the few english and welsh hunting men i know are knowlegable guys that i genuinley respect, i would assume the whole british race are thick as shit judging by the pretend hunters posting on here,a lot of ye shouldn't be let out in public without wearing a crash helmet.
