  1. the gamo spring braking is normal . is there a lable on the ram you may be able to remove .there may be a burr . your new night mare may be to take out the piston and remove some internal diamiter with a stick and emery paper thats what i would have done but with experiance i would now fit a spring .it is mostlikely the correct ram it may be just to big and the piston hole just to small by thousanths of and inch .i would say it would be possible to remove internal material of the piston it may be just tight at the start . if something is wrong i would bet is the GAMO being wrong not the ram.
  2. on this page step 4 spring retaining pin www.shootinguk.co.uk/guns/air-rifles/maintain-airgun-39809
  3. i have had a look ONLINE the piece of metal i removed was a bit of metal that keeps the spring guide in place but not all of it .just enough as to allow the gas ram to sit flat .I see the gun is sold with gas rams now so the part may be changed in modern guns .
  4. i did not try with out . i think it was a little bit of metal that holds the spring guide in place if it is still made with it . has to be removed . i may have tryed to put my gun to gether with it in place the gun wont cock . the gas ram seems accurately made . i know my power was bang on . I am going by memmory so if its a night mare to get it in WITH HELP it will be bad to get it out again when you have to remove the little bit of metal . make a spring press dont steam in with the file and saw .
  5. well iv ordered one now so ill give it a go! if it fails then no worries its only a mess about gun ill put a spring kit in it. will be nice to experience a gas ram as iv wondered what the difference between them is for years. ill keep that in mind tho and keep an eye out for problems. thats how i got sucked in . i did leave the gun loaded all day out shooting but not that much no more than spring guns , but that is what they say is good about the gas ram . as i said it did shoot a lot better than the standard gamo spring . you will have to make a spring press to take the gun apart . don
  6. i would not fit a gas ram . i fitted one years back you will have to machine your gun a little not much i cannot remember how right now .you have to take some of the end bit that holds the spring in . i was told,,,, the rams are no good they go wrong quite soon ....i was told this by a very large west london shop i have gone to for 43 years ,,,.if you want a gas ram get a gas ram gun because of the problems we have had with the theoben gas rams we dont have any thing to do with them,,,,so any way i got one from theoben or were ever . after 6 mounths or so i used my gun for a bit the gas ram
  7. i have done as well out shooting with a springer as pcp s . pcp s are not the be all and end all they are just different .
  8. not 100 persent sure what has gone on . I wonder if you put to much air pressure in it . if the gun was still set to shoot co2 thats about 100 bar max I would think . just a guess .
  9. it will be a bit fiddley but this is what I would do also
  10. I got ten of ebay nice leather but the hole in the center were out so they were useless . so I started making my own out of a leather bag I found mm long 20mm wide . It took a few goes to get them right but its the only way . If you buy of ebay watch out .I thought this person is not selling much on ebay you would think someone selling just pouches would get them right .
  11. the jsb rs are the same as falcon accuracy + .in 177 they may be a little light weight still ok . I have a few tins of 177 falcon accuracy + in 177 . the jsb express are a little better and heavyer , but this will still be gun dependant . the falcon accuracy lost out at longer range accuracy with the limited testing I did but they were still ok .
  12. if you get a spring gun it is important you fit the scope in the correct position and make sure it dose not move when the gun is shot .The way a spring gun has to be held when shot is very important , if you hold the gun in an unnatural position consistency of shot will be a problem . the recoil of spring gun can effect the scope ,so it must be fitted well . Also a strong scope is better than a big weak cheap one .
  13. they will have a lot better BC than a similar weight 22 so will arrive with more power and speed .if they are accurate and leave the gun at 11.5 ft lbs then they will be similar to a 22 but better I'd like to think this were true but I think all you will find with these is that they will over penetrate (dumping little energy on the target) as they don't have the same surface area. Perhaps a heavy hollow point such as h&n extremes would do what you say. They should be good in wind though I never find the OVER penetration of 177 a problem I like it .The problem I find is the UNDER p
  14. something you will do is bang drop and bash your gun . I cant imagine any one here has not done that at some time more so at the start of there shooting careers , a spring gun lends its self to being bashed a bit because it is a more solid build gun . It has to be to handle the expanding spring when shot .

  16. as above a good quality springer is all you need . If you want to take things futher you can but there is no need . Pcp is quiet and often a lighter weight gun to shoot .a spring gun is a often cheaper , reliable and ready to go any time gun .
  17. this is the scope I have that have noticed this problem first . I get a problem when moving my object lense for sure . I think the problem is there is massive magnification so any inaccuracy is MAGNIFIED .ha ha
  18. I feel that my point of impact moves when I adjust my adjustable objective lenses sometimes . If I adjust and shoot at longer distances no problem but when I then shoot a ten yard and adjust the AO I have found problems . My impact point can move noticeably . I would think unless the lense and the threaded components and the scope tube were 100 percent perfect your point of impact has to move a bit . twisting the front lense of the scope has to be like moving your front sight if you were using open sights . the eye ball end of the scope lense that is pretty much set once you find the spot tha
  19. i have a very very light trigger on a verminator . its a bit of a shock when i use the gun after using a different gun , but after a few shots i get used to it again and it is very good , but a little bit heavier trigger would not be a problem .
  20. check your fill pressure is above 110 bar 150 would be better . get better pellets . what you describe may be a bit more of a problem . If the scope adjustment is all used up there could be something wrong with the scope or the mounts or the barrel could be bent down . If your gun is full of air and the gun groups well you could adjust your shooting you know where the shot goes on the scope so just shoot there . A fix for the problem maybe move the front scope mount to the rear and the rear mount to the front . Or what would be my first thing to try put some packing in the rear scope mount und
  21. the only real advantage a pcp has over a good quality springer is silence and sometime a needed second shot if the gun has a mag , but this comes at a price both money and the fact a pcp is a more delicate gun and you have to take a lot more care when using it. knocks, dirt ,etc , a spring gun is ready to go always . I have a hw 100 and a verminator mark 1 . alot of the time I like the verminator more than the hw 100 . hw 100 may be every ones favorite because there are more about if you want opinions between a hw and a vermintor you will have to ask people who have used both . If you have a c
  22. also how do we know it is not slingshot . over the years I have noticed that often when a wounded animal has been shot with an arrow from a bow it is reported that the arrow has been shot from a crossbow .when it is clear the arrow looks to be 30+ inches long and has a knock that grips the string for a bow .
  23. Maybe the person shooting feels they may not get a new licence , that is required in the near future . They are just having a bit of fun while they still can .When the new licence comes in to being next year this type of thing will be a thing of the past for sure .
  24. out of the 3 pellets my first choice would be rs (falcon accuracy + ) a lighter pellet out of a springer usually , also the pellets accuracy in the gun has to be considered . accupell would be my second choice when i used them some time back they were a bit harder lead than the jsb range of pellets . When I used them over the chrono ( only through one pcp) I got a one ft lbs drop in power I believe because the pellets were a little tight in the barrel , noticeable when loading the pellets . the accupells were a tight fit and a little low in power but accurate . The exact jumbos will give you
  25. i have never seen or shot a springer multi shot .... I have a question how do you not shoot the gun with out a pellet from time to time . I find I do this with a pcp but no harm done but a springer , this has to be a problem .
