    We went out to ferret around a horse paddock this morning.It was raining when we set off and we had to shelter in the van when we got there as it started to pour down.It soon eased off and we netted up along one hedge.We soon had our first rabbit which Michealas ferrets bolted.We moved further down the hedgerow and got another couple and had to dig one of them.By the time we had got to the end of the hedgerow we had got six rabbits and had dug to two.One rabbit had bolted from a hole we could not net and ran back to where we had started ferreting.We had left the nets on and when we packed up a

    I have been in hedges as bad but it is all part of the enjoyment we get from ferreting.

    Looks like you all had a good day out.That place has dried out a bit i remember some more pictures from you and the grass was green when you were ferreting it.

    Met up with Stuart again for another session ferreting.We met at 0900 and went to a bank in between two ponds the owner wanted us to ferret.Looking at it you would have thought we were in for a really good day again so we got to work putting on purse nets and setting up long nets and stop nets.We only put the purse nets on the easy holes as we had the area closed in with the longnets to catch any rabbit that bolted from an unnetted hole.It took a while to get set up and we only got 11 rabbits in total after all that graft.But the freezer is topped up with rabbits and the ferrets will not go hu

    Met up with Stuart this morning to ferret around a place we have never done before.There were plenty of rabbit holes to go at so we set to work.We soon had seven rabbits and the owner of the place came down to see how we were doing.They were pleased as they had paid someone to ferret before and they never ever got more than four. We cracked on and had a good few hours at it using purse nets and longnets.A good few holes left to ferret at this place and we are going again tomorrow for another go. We ended the day with 32 rabbits and we had two rabbits bolt into one net and that does not seem

    It was a good day pity you were at work we could have done with an expert digger.

    Picked up my ferreting partner for the day at 9am and off we went to try and get some rabbits.We tried a few easy holes to net first on a hedgerow and we managed one rabbit.Had to dig for the ferret once and the groung was like concrete.We never found the rabbit but i was sure the ferret had killed one.We filled in the hole and moved to a little bit of a grown up wood.It was a bit rough to get the purse nets set properly as loads of twigs and stuff to catch them on.My ferreting partners jills worked very well and bolted a few rabbits and are going to be very good workers.Only had to dig one ra

    Looks a nice place to ferret.Always nice when you don`t have to clear a lot of stuff from round the holes.

    A nice spot to do a bit of ferreting.The dogs certainly legged it after that last rabbit.

    We are still finding myxy is about in some places and at other places there is no sign of it.

    I use straw for the ferrets bedding and wood shavings in the run.Mine are outside in a hutch and even in this weather they are nice and warm.

    Met up with Stuart again for another day out ferreting.It was a cold and icy start to the morning but it stopped us getting too warm.We were just putting the purse nets on the rabbit holes when the farmer who has the field next to the one we were doing came walking across to see us.He said we could ferret all around his field and if we were stuck for somewhere to ferret just to let him know as he has a lot of rabbit warrens on other fields.He was told we would sort it for him and we got on with the job in hand of getting rid of some more rabbits.
