    It was a good day out.Could tell when we got shooting we might be in for a good few hours.Pigeons were still coming in when we were packing up.We managed to get them to decoy in to us really well and they were commiting from a good way from our hide.Had a few right and lefts between us which was nice. Just rode round shooting the rabbits out of the van.There were plenty about but the vegetation was too long and they were hard to see when they were running among it.Still a lot more rabbits to go at there so plenty for another time and should be some good ferreting there come winter.

    Have just bought an air arms s510 and just wondering what pellets other owners are using.Am using H+N trophy target and getting 1cm groups at 20 yds.Not been out to zero at longer range yet as too windy and i want to try a few different pellets.Thinking of buying a few of those test packs with about 25 pellets in to try but thought i could narrow down what to get by asking here.

    Lovely and warm yesterday.Been this morning and had two shots at the one and only crow that came near and missed and then packed up as started to pour with rain.

    Farmer text me just before dinner to tell me some corvids had started on another of his barley fields.So said i would be down after dinner for a look.Got there at 1330 and must have been 50 corvids on the edge of the field.There were no flattened parts of the barley the birds were just on the edges of the field.Decided to have a go so set up and had 19 on the clicker.There were 16 corvids and 3 pigeons i shot but only picked up 10 corvids and 1 pigeon.Only picked the easy birds as this barley is starting to ripen and did not want to use the dog in it.

    We put guns away at 2000 and packed up and pigeons were coming in while we were packing up.Still pigeons on the field when i put banger gun back on at 2140.

    Stuart said to farmer if he had shooters we did not want to tread on anyones boots.Farmer just said "I have a couple of blokes come but they don`t seem to do much good so get on and fill your boots i say who shoots on my land.

    I arranged to meet Stuart for some rabbit shooting today.But as he was coming over he saw a field with pigeons on and found the farmer and asked if we could shoot the field.The farmer said fill your boots so i met up with Stuart at 1430 and it started slow but after tea they came in a bit better.We decided to pack in when we got to 70 pigeons which took us till 2000 hrs.Wec could have easily shot more but we knew it would take us an hour to pack up.So we got packed up and on the way home and Stuart rang to say he had forgotten to put the gas banger back on.Anyway i was 12 miles away and went b

    Barley is still green at the moment.Once it starts to turn properly i don`t use dogs in it the birds can stay where they drop if they go in the long stuff.

    Farmer text me this morning to say a few crows had started on his barley.As i was waiting in for a delivery i never got down to the farm till 1430 and when i did all the birds lifted and flew off.I waited and they started coming back so i got set up and put out four crow decoys.As soon as i shot one i put it on the flapper and added others to the pattern as i shot them.I packed in at 1830 and had 23 on the clicker and picked 18 which was not too bad.I will be having another go there as they will be back on the barley.

    Fully grown is the rape hardly a flower on now just a field of green.Setting up decoys on the short stuff that has been eaten and just using short bamboo canes shoved up the pigeons backside to put them out for decoys.

    After all the rain we have had the last few days it gave a good day today so i arranged to meet with Stuart for a day on the pigeons.We met at 0930 and did not realise how wet it was till we got pushing the gear on the barrows and the wheels kept clogging up with mud.It was a matter of 500 yards and we eventually got shooting at about 1100.It was a very windy day and i had to put guy ropes to the hide poles to stop the hide from blowing down.We packed up just before 1700 with 47 pigeons between us.There were some good birds in the wind today and it made the day out all the better for it.We wer
