No probs hope we can get a few on the peas soon.

I think it will be swathed before the short stuff gets a chance to grow.I might get another go on this field before that happens.

Farmer told me pigeons had been at his rape.I had told him plenty of times to ring me if any pigeons on but he never did.If he had i think i could have stopped it getting as bad as this.Anyway he rang me at the weekend and said he had taken the banger gun off and if i wanted a go at the pigeons there were a few about.So i had a couple of recces and me and Stuart went today and had a steady day pigeon shooting.There was a couple of showers during the day but they were not too bad and it was warm enough that nothing stayed wet for long.We ended up with 72 pigeons and 1 rook picked.

A farmer had mentioned that his wheat crop was being grazed by rabbits.Told me they were grazing it was where some pylons are in the field.So i asked Micheala if she fancied going for an hour or two to see if we could get any rabbits.We bolted three rabbits but they were small ones and they got through the purse nets.The only one we got was one the ferret had hold of and Micheala got her arm down the hole and pulled it out.But at least we showed willing and we will probably have another go there in a few weeks.

Farmer rang me this morning he had gone to get the cubs and put them on his muck heap and they had gone.So am back down there tonight for a couple of hours after dark to see if i can finish the job properly.

Had another go at the corvids today.Just got set up again and they came to pick the silage off the field.It was a bit noisy at times and with the tractors coming and going it was certainly busy.But a few came in to the decoys and i finished the day with 19.Could have stopped and got a few more.But the dog like me was ready for home as it was too hot for us both.

While out shooting corvids today i got a call from a farmer asking if i could go and shoot some foxes in his farmyard.I went down tonight Tuesday and he showed me where they were in his bales of straw.I said i would rather shoot the vixen first and then the cubs as any cubs left the vixen would probably move somewhere else.He just wanted them shot and was not bothered if i did not get the vixen and so i ended up shooting three cubs tonight.

Me and Stuart had a go at some corvids on some cut silage today.The farmer turned up to spread it just after we set up.We never bothered moving all we did was move the decoys three times as he made his pass.Stuart brought his pup for some more hide experience and she was nice and steady in the hide.She also picked up a few and saved us running around.We ended up picking 21 corvids.

These rabbits here are just making a comeback after having myxy back end of last year.I never got to ferret this farm as they were all but wiped out.Supposed to be drilling peas on this field next week so wants them thinning out.

Went out tonight to shoot a few rabbits for a farmer.He was out himself a few nights ago and he shot 9 and asked me if i could go and shoot some.So i get there at 1900 and had shot 5 by just before 2000.Then it started raining and i never saw another rabbit so i left about 2100.If it had stayed dry i think i would have got a few more but there will be another night.

Nice at least the blackbirds will have a chance to fledge now.

As i promised you i will only be asking friends i know and trust to come with me. :hmm: Probably be shooting them myself then most of the time.

Winchester and Eley subs in mine.The Winchester i find are harder hitting but the Eleys are just a fraction more accurate but hardly anything in it.

I put frozen bottles of water in the hutches when it is warm and the ferrets will lie near them.I use less bedding as well and if it is cold mine just lie together to keep warm.

Farmer wants them gone so i crack on with it and it was a cloudy night.Does not seem to be many left here now and another week or two and everything will be too grown up to shoot them here.

I went last night to the farm were i have been trying to get the rabbit numbers down.Must have got them thinned out now as i only shot 4.I was using the night vision and spotter and it was a long wait for the rabbits to show.I shot one early and i knew it was on the edge of the ditch but i did not know it had gone in the water.When i went to collect it after packing up it had been in the water a few hours so i left it.But i got the others gutted and skinned before going home and fed the ferrets and put the rest in the freezer for them.The farmer asked if i could shoot some crows so i will have

I feed mostly on an evening rabbit,hare and pigeons as i find they are the easiest to get.Also feed them goose and pheasant and the odd squirrel.Am giving meat in smaller portions so that all is eaten and none is left in the cages now the flies are about.Also give a few biscuits for during the day.

Took the dogs out today for a walk around.Took the shotgun and went out to one of the farms and had a walk through a wood and managed to get a Squirrel and a Magpie.The peas are coming on now and will soon be attracting the pigeons.So will have to keep a watch on the peas and get on as soon as i see any pigeons .
