  1. @ King, bit of a mix up , apologies lol
  2. As have many others. The main reason the Bull bred lurcher receives the amount of flack it does is because of the feckwits and nuggets that own them, use them as a status symbol, hunt in a manner the majority find utterly repulsive, breed out of dross throwing names about like confetti and slabber on like a second rate fisherman and his catch.Ive seen my share of very useful bull bred lurchers, lurchers whose owners have little in common with, with many that own the breed. The minority of feckwit bull x owners are responsible for the majority of dross bred, finding a decent un is a task in itself, yet
  3. A good mutt is a good mutt no matter the type, but vast majority of bullx are poo poo lol i watched countless numbers of them over about 10 years and they were they were all crap, is some good ones about but i seriously doubt they be posted on here hahaI do agree there's more shit bull crosses about than most if not any other cross. Too many idiots with them thinking they are they bees knees because they carry a bit of muscle and strike a nice pose so churn pups out of them when they've seen a seasons worth of work spread over 5.But I have seen a few good ones and the good ones are good. Plus
  4. Tried replying to your post, but couldn't for some reason, so I'll do it on this one lol. By 'good nick' I didn't mean running fit as such, but he looks relaxed, and has a healthy happy aura about him, nice
  5. This could go on and on lol. I don't mean the 'odd collie x' doing a bull x's job, I never said that. And there certainly WON'T be a bull/grey catching hares or most deer in this country that hasen't rebounded off a fence etc, even on the lamp. Seen plenty of collie crosses, I/2 X, but mostly 3/4 breds taking fox very regularly, as well as other quarry, and on the same night. But I do agree with you to a certain point, there obviously are some racily built 1/2 bull x's about, but they still aren't going to be fast enough to catch as much as most other types, especially some of the heavier ty

  7. That's the point I'm making roybo. They are never going to be a general allrounder type, but when you get, and you do, people saying 'my bull x catches r h f d, pre ban, well, was it actually a proper bull x? I don't think so. And as for thumbs up or likes, I really couldn't give a flying f**k who likes or dislikes what I have to say about bull crosses, honestly. And I've seen ALOT more than the odd collie cross taking foxes, very regularly, and taking rabbits and hares on the same night, and deer, which a bull x wouldn't have the speed to get up to, which didn't bounce back off a fence into
  8. He loves fishing on here more than he loves any type of dog. Haha. I don't think we will ever know his true feelings but like you I enjoy trying to guess. Lol. 9. @ W. Katchum, are you really a secret bull x fan/owner, like you are with whippets, or do you really dislike the type? I think I know, but you do make me think 'outside the box' at times lol Edited to add, me personally, I can't stand the flat footed, bucket headed, slow, unagile, windless, ugly, especially those chocolate ones, f***ing things . And can't understand why anyone would want one, when a proper lurcher will do everything and more. I await the flack
  10. They're known as being independent hard headed b*****ds. And exactly how many have you trained? I have had two, and not had any problems, once I knew how to train them. If your not comfortable letting a dog work up to half a mile away from you and know that you still have the dog under control, then they are not for you. A lot of people think they can train them like a spaniel or a lab and it does not work, it goes against every instinct the dog has. TC You misinterpret my comments as criticism. I've not trained any, but I know people who have. Like you say, they can't be trained like
  11. He seems to be doing well for the purpose you got him for. But aint he too tall and too big?! Lol. As I've said in the past, a few times actually, when people drone on about dogs being too tall etc, as long as a taller type retains good balance and coordination, it's going to be of more use than a smaller dog. I'm not referring to ferreting
  12. I second that, one of the best working lurcher that Ive seen, collie/whip/ grey, both parents, was bred by and parents worked, by a woman. Thankfully the days when 'women should be be tied to the kitchen' and all that sexist, draconian bollox is long long gone. I love women,................. they're great in the kitchen! Lol. Only messing b l b, welcome
  13. As deserbred said, could be the start of an ear infection. Especially if she's crying/whining when shaking her head. Could be grass seed, but sounds more like ear infection. Anyway, as others have said, vet is the way to go
  14. Pic aint the best, like you say, but he looks a cracking strong type. I really like him
  15. Is it possibly one that someone might've 'spaded' their bitch with?
  16. Brocock? Nice and light, very accurate and quality rifles Never used one, or even held one, thanks I will have a look at them I bought one of the limited edition jubilees in .22 a few years back. Lovely accurate and pointable rifle, and although very lightweight, it didn't seem as small as an ultra, which was far too small for me. I think they are roughly the same weight though
  17. Brocock? Nice and light, very accurate and quality rifles Edited to add, and damned fine looking rifles too lol
  18. u like saluki x After 23 pages of which stone rose has contributed to on this thread, is what you've written above a question or a statement?! Lol, excellent thread by the way, just read it from page 1
  19. Nice pups, and glad he's done well for you after putting the effort in to import him . But, hang on ................. you've used him at stud already at barely 2 years of age?! That's not the done thing thing on here . Lol enjoy your dog mate, and those pups
  20. Maxhardcore on here has two top class distance/marathon greys for free stud. Could be well worth contacting him
  21. Ooooh how rude! See more women than men drinking cider these days, something you wanna 'fess' up?! Lol. Me and the missus enjoy a bottle of red wine now and then these days, but yeah, I used to be more of a cider drinker
  22. I remember when you got that pair as pups. They're coming on nicely
  23. Not another 5 month old pup?! ...................... Jesting lads, jesting lol
  24. Is it one of those really pale coloured ones?
  25. Looks like a fair bit of saluki in her
