  1. @ buster, the greyhound you worked must've been an ex track dog, and a poor one at that. f**k all wrong with a greyhound's brain, stamina, feet or nose. Too many people on here say the same as you, and 99% of em have tried ex track dogs. Normally they'll be well past 4 years of age and will only have known kennel life and after schooling, normally just one run around a track a week. Any dog, however bred, isn't going to be up to much in the field after spending at least 4 years on such a routine. Try working a greyhound that's been brought on like you would a lurcher from a pup, people wo
  2. I think it's just down to the individual dog's character. The two best dogs I've seen have been a 1st x deer/grey and a 1st x collie/grey x 1st x deer/grey, both superb dogs on ALL quarry on the lamp and both good daytime hare dogs, this was 80's 90's, just in case I upset a tree hugger!
  3. Didnt expect her to be that big from the photo I thought she looked smaller. Bet she can make up some distance when she is at full stride! mate shes in full stride 15yards max lol rapid as fook.. i got another pic here that shows her build better, feckin about with me old mans pup out front...you can really appreciate the shape on the fekcer then ...lol Yeah that's a good pic with pup rob, you wanna get that one on, you can see how much she's come on in that
  4. Didnt expect her to be that big from the photo I thought she looked smaller. Bet she can make up some distance when she is at full stride! That's me in the pic with her, and I aint exactly small lol
  5. You forgot to say she aint that powerful either, and she's 10-15lb heavier now! lmao
  6. The deer/grey x collie/grey were, are and always will be MUCH better than bull x's, and there are still a few good litters of this type available fairly frequently, if you have a bit of a look around
  7. same here Same here bobby, but I must admit to a liking for the faster brindles, especially the big tall mousehound types like our 'girl' lol
  8. 19" and 15kg. Definate rabbit dog size. a little limited when lamping, but I put that down to lack of height on the rougher ground we have around here. I've had similar dogs before, but bred down from the grey rather than the whippet and they excelled at lamping anywhere. @ paulsmithy, this is the exact point I was making about taller dogs on rough ground
  9. Hahahha the 3rd pic is ma spaniel but if you mean the blue dog,, he`s beddy whippet bud ! Although some folk have other ideas !lol Lol I can see he's a spaniel, nice , they're all tidy looking dogs. I think it's an interesting point though that spaniels and saluki types have a similar ear carriage though. Was wondering if you went back far enough to when the moors settled in spain etc, if the dogs they kept would be as strictly seperated as they are now, just a thought, anyway, like I said, nice dogs
  10. That rough dog's a belter , not too keen on the saluki x in the 3rd pic down though, a bit too strong headed for my tastes lol, nice dogs
  11. Cheers pal for the help you would think us lads would pull together with times being as hard as they are with the law on our backs but theres lads like you pal that need to grow up mush. I agree pal,he,s taking the pish,a sensible lad like you deserves a lot better,a back passage thrusting by Errol may feck some sense into what little resource your skull capacity may allow, tell you mam. Lol after that 'big powerful bitch' thread mullarky I can't take f**k all serious on here anymore today!
  12. Yep, I'd say the majority of young dogs being passed on etc nowadays have been tried far too early. And not just at fox. Like you say, most dogs, especially the larger types, are still pups really to a certain degree until well after 18 months. And age isn't really much of a guide, you're better off observing how the dog matures from puplike behaviour to a more serious/adult way about it before expecting alot from it.
  13. Dont forget to go for the brindle, their faster than the merle variety ,some real sound advice on here for you Brindles definitely make faster mousehounds, FACT!!! Lol
  14. Kin el, was just about to hit the sack til I started reading that! Lol. Good stuff
  15. Feck off, he'd scare half the feckers on here to death, never mind any mice!!
  16. Go on, admit it, he's a merle/BRINDLE! lol He so isn't ! He couldn't catch a cold lol ! I've had a brindle, but I think the stripes were the wrong way round - he was sloooooowwwwww ! Nothing wrong with slow, mice aint that fast, just very nimble, you've got a slow, but very nimble dog!
  17. Go on, admit it, he's a merle/BRINDLE! lol
  18. Scoff at your peril people, brindle mousehounds are the way forward! FUUUCK the ban!!!
  19. That is one belting bitch mate looks like the girl dog with rough coatYeah it does, cracking bitch
  20. Lara, this bitch will 'smash' mice field or fen 100 yard slips, no kickups! LOL
  21. The breeding is top notch, and this coming season she might be used on mice at night as well as the day! lol, by the way, she was only 12 months in that pic and has matured very nicely, so we are expecting to run into double figures on the mice! lol
