  1. Comedy gold doesn't even come close to that particular set of posts. Definitely still the funniest things I've ever read on this site. And yes, he certainly knew his native finch genetics, breeding etc 100%.
  2. Yeah, like I said in an earlier post, I misread it.
  3. Yep, I read it too quickly and mentally assumed three quarter whippet.
  4. 3/4 bred being too small and slow? Not too sure about that. But, I agree, a pure whippet would 'probably' be a better choice, depending on the land etc.
  5. No, but I can juggle three milk bottles at the same time.
  6. Someone send him a thousand bonsai trees!! f****r's uptight as f**k, constantly!! lol
  7. All this sort of talk reminds me of when I was in school, and I took 'rural science' as a subject, not 'gardening'. Mr Hickman was our teacher, drummed into us the importance of a good, friable loam, especially for beets and tubers!!
  8. So, lies nevertheless? I'm guessing here, Gooey, as your reply above isn't exactly clear. lol
  9. So I could breed a useful line of dogs without the lies, 'Street accidents' and made up pedigrees etc etc. If I had the time.
  10. I think I'd rather take on a pure than a coursing bred.
  11. Read the top post, Gooey. Even some collie in there.
  12. I love it when the truth comes out about a lot of the famous coursing dogs have plenty of whippet in their bloodlines. Several people on here, no need to mention names, will be practically apoplectic! Lol
  13. You don't need to tell me, mate!! lol
  14. Charts is far too erudite to fall for your ruse, Gooey. lol
  15. Pretty popular mix in years gone by. Seen a few good ones many years ago. Haven't seen any of that type for a couple of decades, though. Shame really. Good luck with your search.
  16. Hasn't he just bred one of his greyhound bitches? Can't remember the the thread now. I do remember he's got two greyhound bitches, and he's just bred one.
  17. You going for the same type, or just a first cross pointer/grey mate?
  18. As the old saying goes, one man's meat is another man's poison. Personal preferences are great.
  19. My best catch dog was a beardie/border x greyhound, Hancock's Taffy, bred to an extremely fast, greyhoundy lurcher bitch. Caught me loads of hare and deer, when I did a lot of lamping. Tremendously fast, powerful dog, but not great on the stamina. But definitely NOT the best lurcher I've owned to live with, c**t did my head in on a regular basis!! If he he wasn't so good at his designated work, I'd have outed him long before the 12 years I had him.
