  1. how do you know your digging down the side of the dog an not in front of the dog where you don't want to be digging??
  2. knew his uncle Windsor, he was a farmer just outside a little village called deri in South Wales. A gent an always remember him driving me to a earth I didn't know for, couldn't believe it as I must have walked within 100 yards of it dozens of times, local knowledge... Eddie lives for hunting an was in hunt service when money was tight, who can blame him from earning money to survive.
  3. Admittedly Mr.chapman has earned a lot of money through selling dogs mostly abroad, so have a few others and like it's already been said he has forgotten more than most will learn. Just remember that man has probably worked more animals under the ground than most could in 10 lifetimes and was one hell of man on a spade in his day. At least he sold his terriers, his line, the dogs he produced himself, not like hundreds of people who sell dogs or pups and advertise with a well known name alongside as a sales pitch to sell them. So to me he is inticled to do as he pleases with his own strain.
  4. so what would you class the dog/bitch in your aviator??
  5. Now now Howard, don't let the English sense of humour get you down. Good luck with the book and don't take anything to heart that you see on here. now now, don't let the American sense of humour get you down.tit
  6. just because someone is a terrierman for a hunt doesn't mean he's a good terrierman. All the worse terriermen I've watched worked a dog below ground have been in the job. Saying that I've seen soon of the best also. What you got to remember is its not rocket science, and any fool can dig to a good dog.
  7. the clue is in the title mate, leave you work it out for yourself..

  9. Is this definitely on BH Monday? Might see you there, been a while ... deffo on b.h. Monday
  10. None of you are going to believe this but it is true as I've seen it with my own eyes but this scumbag with all his admissions is getting a pension from the hunt servants pension scheme. What a hypocrite. Wonder what the antis think about that?? Blood money...
  11. a v.good friend of mine who culls a very big herd of fallow for the national trust had a jack Russell bitch, this bitch you could dig foxes, which I did hundreds of times with hounds but when out stalking she would hunt shot deer till found an during the stalk she would be on her belly just like my mate as he got up close enough, even when a shot was fired she wouldn't go just in case there was chance of a second kill, she was human an a pleasure to watch work what ever the quarry.
  12. Way before my time mate haha, I'm trying to get rid of the separate battery altogether, I bet it made for some interesting nights though i remember walking all night just for a couple runs, swapping over every couple of fields because of the weight of the battery, or traveling 100 miles for the lamp to fcuk up in the first field, get back in the viva van an drive home. Must have been mad, regrets?? None, happy days an do it all again.
  13. Long gone have the nights of carrying a car battery or motorbike battery!! God knows how many pairs of shirts or army trousers I've burnt with leaked acid after falling over an leaking. As for lamps? Who remembers the Lucas car lights? The L.R. 9 an the L.R 14.? Brilliant lamps them when converted with a doorbell as on an off switch.
  14. thanks. Spoke to them, not going to make the size required.
  15. thanks for that, nice pairing but not what i'am looking for. Saw some nice ones at a Leicestershire show 3 maybe 4 years back, also saw couple at Ledbury show this year if someone might know who owns them? Wish I had spoke to them. Big boned and really rough coated.
  16. Looking for anyone breeding Wheaton/greyhound x bull/greyhound pups, would consider young dog but not over 12months, must be rough coated, help appreciated. Many thanks
  17. Trouble I got with straw they piss in the beds but don't get that trouble with shavings.
  18. Heard it too many times for a dogs piss poor performance,,,"the dogs not fit enough" complete nonsense, the dogs not up to the job more like, a lot can be said for having a dog too fit early in the season aswell, a combination of the dog that hasn't seen any work over the summer period and being bouncing fit (something that I personally don't see needed but each to their own) making easy work look like a hard job. My dogs need 5 or 6 digs each at the beginning of the season to get back into their working style that they work, plus one off digs in the summer months I hate and are avoided becau
