  1. good read mate Any one who can drag themselves out of a warm house and go netting alone is pretty keen Nice one
  2. Acrane driver on our site showed me how to go on years ago, thirty years ago that was , so I just used the same method. Years later I realise that it is a very basic method. He just tied the net to top and bottom lines and left about a foot of draw cord without net .This was to wrap around the net when it was allpicked up. He then put ilt in an essian sack and threw it over is shoulder it was 75 yards in length and the bag was free running not tied in.He wouldn't go through the door unless it was black and really windy. I can remember him being very quick and made the job look easier than i
  3. What can I say. Its certainly one of my favourite methods of securing a few rabbits after dark. Dropping a net can become a way of life that slowly but surely envelopes you. Your head becomes full of visualised drops and problem solving. Then your on your way for real and trying to be as quiet as a cat as you approach the drop. The intense concentration is palpable, your not even breathing fully. Hunting mode as just kicked in and every thought and situation in life good or bad as been left behind. The anticipation and success of the drop is foremost . Peg
  4. I like the heavier nylon nets. You can almost throw them over open holes with very little adjustment. Never had no trouble with them pursing up and holding a rabbit They don't pick up crap when doing the hard yards either
  5. For the low lying tight bramble I use a jack Russell. Makes the job look effortless. She got a great temprement and responds to tone of voice. Not had any issues as regards going to ground
  6. Money and some greedy barsteward are usually the catalyst to this bullshit.
  7. Master. Glass hopper has to train for many years to catch mole.
  8. I have tried longnetting when ferreting. Purse nets , secatures , patience and a bit of imagination can soon fill a game carrier up if theres a healthy rabbit population.
  9. I think the world of this dog. Had some cracking days out with and without the ferrets. Cant wait for the weekend to come these days
  10. Gravy granuels will also thicken it up a bit if that's your preference Sound

  16. I run a dog with a fair amount of saluki blood in him. Hes very sensitive to tone of voice. He loves a good fuss , shows all is teeth in affection every time I let him out of his pen. So what I can say is the bond is the key. He will hunt all day finding is own rabbits and if he catches he will bring them back. He serves me well as a ferreting/ marking dog Ive worked him on lamp and ive worked him blind at night without a lamp. He always comes back to the spot were I let him off. I have a hell of a lot of respect for saluki blood now Durecell is a suitable name
