  1. Yeah I had some of them thy get tangled in the bag and pick up every bit of twig or leave.
  2. Is it these youre looking for? http://www.dogtronix.com.au/ferretterrier-finder-mk-3-extra-collar-p-35.html
  3. I dont think the snip changes the hormone level at all. As for castration when I had my dog castrated my vet told me that it takes around 9 months dont know how different it would be for ferrets.
  4. I used to get blisters when I first started but fine now. I wasnt aware that the bottom of the needle was for pulling the twine tight Ive been using my hand.
  5. I got 3 jills this season around the same age. Im dying to try them out but Im told its best to let them mature so Im thinking mid November.
  6. I have 5 ferrets and I paid £10 a piece for them which I think is a fair price considering the ammount of food a litter of ferrets gets through.
  7. The Simon Whitehead mentioned above is the best on the subject imo. Working Ferrets by Jackie Drakeford is well worth a look as well.
  8. Ive fed my ferrets collared doves and they were fine.
  9. Do they realy drown? Id have thought they would move to higher ground.
  10. Yeah make the ferret fearful thatl help loads.
  11. Is it just nipping or biting hard and hanging on? The method I use now is to hold my finger in a ferrets mouth for a couple of seconds to make it gag. They usualy get the message in a few days. I got a pair of albino jills years ago that hadnt been handled so were nippy. I sprayed my hands with bitter apple and every time they nipped I held my finger in the ferrets mouth for a second to let them get the taste. This put them off biting in no time.
  12. I use one of these http://www.screwfix.com/p/roughneck-micro-shaft-round-point-shovel/53829 Not a folding shovel but it is small and light.
  13. I use these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15-EXTRA-HEAVY-DUTY-CAMPING-6-15CM-PLASTIC-TENT-PEGS-/290564059518?pt=UK_SportsLeisure_HikingCamping_Tents_JN&hash=item43a6f7b17e Cheap and easy.
  14. I was out the other week and was having a similar day. Im in the south east so Im thinking its still to early. I usualy wait until October but was eager to get going this season.
  15. Ive only fed my ferrets squirrel a few times but they seem to love them.
  16. Whole animal usualy rabbit pigeon or corvid of some kind.
  17. Never seen a net without 2 rings before. I like to stick the bottom ring in the ground inside the hole so I think Ill stick with them.
  18. Takes me over an hour to do a straight purse net but they are good nets. Havent learned how to do a shaped net yet.
  19. I like either spun poly or 12z nylon nets. Hemp is good to but higher maintanance.
  20. If the hobs still in season he will probably try to mate with the kits even though theyre not in season so you may be better waiting until hes out.
  21. Go out and ask a few farmers youd be suprised how often they say yes. Once youve done a good job on a permission more often follows through word of mouth.
  22. I make my nets 15 by 21 meshes on a 2 1/8 mesh board. I find this big enough and havent often lost a rabbit in these nets. I do also have a couple of giant purse nets which occasionaly come in useful.
  23. It took me ages to get the hang of the mk3m but now I have its a good tool. I agree theyre overpriced at around £160 with only one collar but even mk1 is still expensive second hand. One thing Id like to see on the mk3 is a headphone socket.
  24. When he bites push your finger into his mouth a little this soon puts them off.
