midlander same thing happened to me and a mate 25 year ago noise like thousands of sewing machiness starting up and feild lit up with pale colours dog dropped rabbit and run back frightened to death .mind you not as frightened as me and my mate always wonder to this day what it was. because we sure as hell didnt hang around to find out this was a feild next to the open mountain . but nothing unusual around to see .

seems to be a lot of heat over coursing lately countrymans weekly and local papers nationwide full of it seems every man and his running dog seems to be getting it. makes you wonder wher all the police manhours are coming from if their short of police has their saying,i suppose the dog boys are easy meat compared to catching proper lawbreakers druggies burglars etc.but they do seem to be more up for it this season listening to people around the country.

tinned tomatoes in food is very good plus rub them down with a greyhound rub to warm muscles up if cramping persists try giving them a quineen tablet before going out this prevents cramping all greyhound people use them when they need to .

first trackies and trainers now the cammo s getting it .get a life folks what does it matter what whoever is wearing if you dont like it dont wear it simple . when judging a show i dress smartly in moleskins and check shirt but then you get the divs saying you look a prat . just to look a dog over cant win is the easy answer because someone somewhere doesnt like the wearers clothes . incidently my realtree jacker happens to be the most comfortable jacket ive ever owned so i wearit everywhere.

trinder try going the other way over the bridge plenty of sport that way. your dog will be glad to be back in his kennel in the morning. and some nights in goytre and llanover you need sunglasses on theres that many lamping and tbh its crap there .now years ago you could get big numbers but it was keepered then a lot more. so it was much more risky as well theres a few bunnies in felds back of llanaravon social and right on your doorstep if this helps and good hour walk round on the lamp .be lucky.

used to have permission on a farm in mid wales and there was a collie greyhound living wild on the farm couldnt get anywhere near it when we were lamping it would follow behind us every feild .the farmer said it was like it from a tiny pup just would not socialise or take food from him .it really was like a wild dog and totally self sufficient.

was selling bundles of stick from 10 yr old used to tie it in to bundles with shot wire and sell them round doors for a tickie a bundle .or half crown for the trolley load. also used to sell the lead weights out of derelict houses window sashes we would sell it to the demolition men then when they went home steal it back melt it down in a bucket over a open fire and then sell it back to them again .great times had loads of scams over the years to make few bob but its much harder now with all the rules and regulations .mindd you the travellers still seem to do ok .

if anyone wants to know why hares are declining they need look no further than the alcar estate where the waterloo cup was run it was always heaving and alive with hares even with poachers having the odd run but since the ban they have been shot and now theres hardly any on there compared to how it was pre ban .my sons neighbour is a top spaniel and lab man and was inviterd on a hare shoot. he packed in at midday and said he could not stomach it any longer as the belgium shooting party were shooting them where they lay if given the chance .now this sounds as if ime having a go at shooting wh

I know its a bit illegal to shoot birds and each other mate,i meant in an ideal world we could organise a cull of buzzards and mass suicide of shooters,some laws are made to be broken you know. You seem to like quoting hares are £3 each,whats a pheasant on shoot day now,£30? cheaper to leave some ground game to keep the lads happy i rekon.

i dont think anyone thinks its ok to fling any quarry in a ditch and i havnt read anywhere on here where it says it is ok to do it or that anyone wants to do it .in all the years ive been in to running dogs ive only ever met one that leaves what he catches in the feild and he was doing the same before the ban.when the ban first came out i packed the dogs in for a short while and just kept my racing greyhounds because i could not stand throwing anything away which my dog had run it just didnt sit straight with my concience because since 5 yr old my old man drummed in to me dont ever kill some
