    slip leads

think this has been done before but what do you find the best kind of slip lead i always buy a horse lunge rein made out of webbing and cut them down glue and stitch the handle loop to suit and for a few quid you have a load of comfortable slips for the season ,because nothing worse than holding a lurcher on a slip thats to short/ long or uncomfortable and cutting in to your hands on a long day or night what do others use cheers.
  2. as the title says what do you prefer a good boot or wellington my own preferance is a good quality wellington, find them better for dogy work and easier to get on and off which is a priority with my gammy hip and knees lol.also keeps most of the muck of you which boots dont tend to do so come on lads and lasses whats your preferance .
  3. it was both a great day out and top company these are the days you remember .
  4. no good living in darkest wales then lol.
  5. hy skycat the last bit of your post is exactly how i felt on the way home admiring ,drooling at the dog ide just seen and thinking i wish lol.
  6. the owner of said dog always has a very good dog or two around him, which again goes to prove if the dog has it in him and there is enough game to put in front of it reguarly the top men will always get it out of the dog or bitch. whereas otheres can have very good dogs but havnt got that extra something that these top men have .take the forley as an example ,the same people reguarly got through to the quarters and semis every year ..
  7. the owner would not thank me for putting it on here in fact he would be very unhappy about it and i want to see it run a lot more in the future . sorry folks .
  8. quite true johnny boy agree with you on above post i love the dogs and everything to do with them but when your in the company of a dog thats a bit special it does open your eyes for you and makes you look a bit harder at your own i suppose its human nature and nothing wrong in striving to have the best that you can .or in getting as much out of your dog as you can its all part of the dog game and why i personally put as work in to my dogs as do .. but sometimes reallity sets in when you see a dog as good as i was out with ..
  9. i run one of this cross plus a first cross saluki greyhound and also a line bred bitch the three quarter is plenty quick enough and bags of wind but hasnt got the mouth of the other two . but that could be me not the dog .

  11. was out recently and had a real eye opener . now i know my dogs are not up to the standard i kept years ago , but they do me ok and happy enough with them in that i have fun running and retreiving a few long ears . but was out in the company of a real top dog recently and really opened my eyes to how far behind being top class mine are not that i ever thought they were .top class that is as they are still young and learning the game . but after seeing this dog running i came away drooling at how easy this dog made it look and a bit depressed about my own dogs abilaty . in fairness the dog in
  12. What would you do with 4 pups then? work them and the best 2 will survive other two culled :whistling: what about the late developer dont get a chance your way. its not always the early starters that end up the best running dog .in fact far from it .
  13. lazells in the west midlands your lucky to see a white person on the street there.
  14. not everyone that rears a litter and doesnt cull does it for money never heard such bullshit in my life .if you feel the need to cull then thats your choice but dont label people that dont feel the need to do it .ive reared a few large litters and never lost a pup or spared a penny on their rearing.giving them and the bitch the best of everything, and thats how it should be if you decide to breed of your bitch.so its not all about money on here if someone decides to breed a litter and doesnt feel the need to cull. but i gotta say there is some shit spouted on here without a lot of thought in t
  15. but she is still hot to trot boys .lol.
  16. do your dogs crawl in and out of the bed mate no they dont have to crawl in and out but beleive me if you put a roof over their bed so they cannot stand fully in it, then it will stop them doing it . lots of top greyhound trainers use this method and it does work .my son in law has one at the moment and its stopped his doing it also worked in the past for me .
  17. And how long your eyelashes are. thats me and you both knackered then inan lol.
  18. these boys and girls certainly know how to run a good smooth show .always run like clockwork .
  19. put a roof on their bed so they cannot stand up to piss, then they got to get out of bed to do it .
  20. at the end of the day no one is being forced to pay or go .and if hes got customers obviously theres a market for that kind of thing personally it does sound a tad steep but jim is a top man with dogs and knows his onions and a very likeable guy as well. i can see there being a market for this kind of thing with companies sending cooperate days there .
