  1. If i had unlimited money etc i would ghet a hilux. If not i would get a ranger - had one and it was f*****g great, never a problem ,and it went EVERYWHERE even in the snow we had last year great pickups And there is a reason the police, and road works etc use them
  2. Still as f**k here mate! And 'Waiting for my life to arive' is a great quote
  3. Smudge - you can't complain about the way your lad is bred And yes, there is some shared blood between our two
  4. I'll go with that mate, it's a brilliant book, opened it christmas morning and that was me for the day, some cracking tales, and a great style. Must admit its right up there with my favourite books now!
  5. CHeers guys! The young lad is keen as feck! But doing me out of a job /. . . . . . i dont think so! I've still got a few tricks up my sleeve!
  6. Cheers mate, hope you had a good one! You just got to take the rough with the smooth when it comes to hunting!
  7. Cheers guys! Rake about - aye mate, it's a wierd one - boxing day doesn't feel complete unless i've done or seen a bit of killing. Bit odd i guess, but there you go! I'm off out ferreting / mooching tomorrow, then out for on the shoot on wednesday, then up in England ferreting on Thursday. Probably ferreting / mooching friday as well, but i havnt planned that far ahead yet The fecking dog is bothering me to go lamping now, but i've had a few pints so the wee bugger can sod off!

  9. My plans for today kind of fell through, so i ended up having a bit of a lie in. However, you can't let Boxing Day pass without a bit of a hunt at least, so i decided to head out after lunch with the dog, and my old albino jill Ruby for a mooch about. We had a good rake about some woodland, putting up a few pheasants, and scaring a few tree rats, but didn't come across any bunnies. On the way out of the woods however, the dog gave a good mark on a fairly long set, a long the boundry fence. Netted up both sides, and left the dog covering the field side, while i took the woodland side. D
  10. Cheers guys Whin - i'm sure it is 'childs play' mate. The issue has not really been the catching of rabbits part, he spots well, follows the beam, runs well etc. It's the desire to dissapear into the woods and hunt up like a f****r, that has caused some stress. He ain't really a lamping dog, it's not my thing. P.S - Somehow you still manage to come across like your being a bit of a dick, even when you are trying to be nice Merry Christmas
  11. Merry Christmas Ray mate And well done Bryn and Tod
  12. L1 - Yer i've been up there a bit on my travels, but not as much as i'd have liked, it's so damn expensive! Like Norway. But beautiful countryside. I'll empty my inbox in a second mate. Your right, i bet the wee man is asleep on couch I'm going to hassle him in a min about going out tomo. Malc - glad you had a good day mate! Yer johnny was chatting about a lamping trip up yours, so just set a date and we'll do it. Would also be good to get a day at that horse place? And a day with you down here on some mixed ground. Would like to see lala go on some of the open rough stuff here.
  13. Cheers malc matey! I hope you and the family (and pack) had a good day today When we linking up? And aye, he's getting there on the lamp, still a bit of a shit if he misses though, and a nightmare if whatever he's chasing goes into a wood. . . . .
  14. Fair play to her mate, she can shift and certainly looks like she doesn't lack commitment!
  15. Cheers smudge! Any idea of the lines / breeding behind your dog? Seen a few dogs from the same lines as mine, that are like peas in a pod!
  16. yes mate am back home for about 2-3 weeks just got to see when the company opens up again and might have a few jobs over here to do first aswell so see when they come in!! yeah been out plenty mate its nice to be back!!! going out ferreting with my brothers harris hawk in the morning and hopefully lamping some good old ground at night (obviously lol) but not been there since last season so not sure what its like, but sure it will be sound!! be good to see you and the midget while im back mate?? 17. Cheers lads Hope you have had a good day! L1 - You back in the U.K now mate? And for how long? Managed to get the muts out?
  18. Well done mate, and I enjoyed reading that. Always like that cur of yours. Would quite like to see some more recent photos of the whippet if you have a chance? Hope you had a good christmas.
  19. Cracking whippet that, seems that south wales is a whippet hot spot. Was lots for sale there when i was looking? Cheers matey There are a few about this part of the world, but he came from North Wales
  20. Not my dog, and not really a 'bull x', but a lurcher with bull in it. Owned by Johnnyboy68 and i'm sure he won't mind me sticking up some photos of her. She's fast as hell and a proper character
  21. Marks well. Handy around a warren. Catches well.
  22. I have only really been out with three / four pure whippets. But just speaking of them, i really like their attitude and approach to working. Especially daytime, they have a great nose and really high prey drive. Also really good in the house, very loving, loyal little dogs
  23. Cheers everyone, and i hope christmas is treating you well! Trig - considering that he hasn't done much of it, he's taking to it well, and starting to impress me He's turning into quite a versitile little dog, despite all the time in sick bay Daytime hunting is his real forte, but he might make a lamp dog yet Ferretman - yes it is
  24. As it's christmas day, there wasn't much chance to get out with the dog of ferrets today! But on the upside i did have a mighty fine christmas lunch So I decided to have a quick shine in one of the fields next to the house earlier, to give the dog a chance to stretch his legs, and me something to do before Dr Who came on the t.v As i came up to the gate, i shone the lamp over, and there was a rabbit sat up the field by the hedge, near an old barn. I let the dog go through the gates bars and lit up the rabbit, he was off like a rocket, with the dog on his tail, eating up the ground. T
