Very true mate! Thought i was going to lose the light, but luckily the soil was quite soft! Lets hope tomorrow goes more to plan!
-
You try telling the dog not to hunt them when your out?
-
So i decided on the usual evening walk with the ferret earlier on, with aboutan hour of light left, i thought i'd just go out and try to bolt a couple for the dog. Went up into the woods behind the house and pretty much straight away got a mark on a nice little 3 holer. In goes the ferret, and. . . . . . . nothing. Silence! After a while the dog starts to scratch and dig at the ground. So out comes the Disco carrot and informs me i have a nice 4/5 foot dig under a holly tree. A bit of gruelling labour later and ok comes one very dead bunny and one little jill. Ah well, can't

Don't take dogs out ferreting, unless broken to ferrets. Simple really.
-
So he's using other folks fox / dog photos for an avatar? Nice. Put it this way Tommy - Are you trying to say that any dog taken out hunting a lot and introduced right will make the grade? Cos if so, there are a few littler of 'jackhuauwas' or whatever the f**k they are called about, and i doubt you could get less working bred dogs. If you can get one of them working fox well, i will give you a prize!

Mate, reading it as it is, is no fecking help to any man (or woman). No offence. So what is the question - what was / is your needs for a dog???
-
I've read it and i still havnt a fecking clue what your asking! It seems to say - years ago i needed / wanted / expected a dog that could take hare, rabbit, the odd fox, go ferreting and maybe bag some birds. Has this changed? Well, there has been a ban, making two of those quarry illegal to hunt, so i'm sure that has an impact. But im also sure that ignoring that fact, most folk would like a dog that was capable of taking a range of quarry in a range of ways. Some however would accept a dog that cant do it all, but does enough to make them happy, and other cant accept such a dog, as t

Well done johnny and luna! New lead?
-
Whats the fecking question? Or is this just another excuse to say how 'the real deals don't need no internet, they have the best dogs, they do it all, and tor of dartmoored 365 hares, phessies, roe and samos before the rest of us even woke up this morn, on the big stubbles, with d.sleight yadda yadda"

That's the thing mate, you might not go out lamping them with your whippet, but what you going to do when it just gets up in the rough daytime when rabbiting? It's just the way it goes. That's the same with any dog is'nt it? Even my ex had a shittly Toy Poodle that just wanted to roll in fox shit and chase deer and foxes when off the lead. Hmm maybe I should submit an article into Countrymans Weekly? Yes mate i suppose it is. I was just making the point to whin, that despite the fact that i fully agree that a whippet is a poor choice of dog for hunting fox, if one gets up out of

albert mate, if you fancy some company one day johnny and me could take a trip down? Would be good to meet up at some point. Johnny - aye, i'm sure he has i imagine he has a big flashing red light that come on in the lounge. phe . . . it'll be in amber alert now

T The thing is mate, who fecking claimed they were the best dogs for fox? What was said was that YES, it is POSSIBLE to kill foxes with a whippet. That was all. But you just cant help but wade in and tell folk how they are doing it wrong, and how much better you would do it. It's the same with EVERYTHING. You can't help yourself but slate everyone else.
-
Not sure if anyone gives a f**k about what you think whin? But you keep on telling us all anyway 'it's not something i would go on about' - why the hell not, you go on and on and on about every other fecking thing The gospel according to the reverand Whin.

Sounds good mate! I'm free on friday or saturday! Just let me know and i'll tell the young un. I'm off out later to sort out your xmas din dins. Lab would weep.

There is a lot of chat on here. . . some of it makes sense, and some is just retarded. At the end of the day, if you plan to tackle foxes regular, then a whippet is not the dog for the job. There is a reason that the 'majority' of fox dogs have terrier blood in them, especially bull, and wheaten. They take punishment better, and have a natural instinct for tackling things that fight back. Now at the same time, it's daft as feck to say that no whippet can take a fox, or even do it multiple times. In comparisson to an average fox, there are some big whippets out there, and as said, they

Cheers guys! And yes johnny, it's really weird being out without Gem, although i think the young dogs did well. Young Tom was asking today if we are out before xmas?
-
:D :DBut you love him anyway, don't you. Yup

At every possible humrous occaision. And aye it was
-
Aye, my dog hunts for himself and he's an ignorant black c**t.
-
Aye

It should just be re-named 'permission wanted' section or maybe 'you don't have a snowballs chance in hell' Worst place in the world to look for hunting permission.

Cheers guys!
