Q.Why are women like parking spaces? A.All the good ones are taken and the ones left over are disabled.
  2. Its always the same when it comes to the crunch, talk is cheap but when asked to put up all the old excuses come up to old, work commitments, injury LOL LOL LOL.JMO. I personaly wont be entering the competition because my dog isnt good enough at lamped rabbits. If this type of lurcher is so good and worth keeping how come you havnt got a younger dog/dogs coming on to replace the old one?
  3. saturdays and sundays, digging club? :11:
  4. I think perhaps you should get out more.
  5. Ime afraid if you are going to play big boys games you have to play by big boys rules. I would probably get pissed off if I was a keeper etc and found a young lad in the pens shooting poults a couple of adult birds is bad enough but poult murdering Just reading between the lines.
  6. Inteligence in dogs is always debatable.Only one thing for sure and that is from the most inteligent to those that could be looked at as a a bit thick they all lick their own arses
  7. Lamping :11: here is a pic of the ultimate running machine with the most elusive of quarry a day time rabbit. It only took me 2 years of waiting for him to catch one.

    pissing me off

I think it might be in the thread about Dartmoor collies it was a rough merle if I remember right.
  10. 8 years good age that for a lurcher that has seen a lot of hard work.Got to look on the bright side and count yourself fortunate to have had as many seasons out of him as you did. You can always look back with some pride at having owned and worked a game dog. Best wishes for the coming season.

    hunting life

It is clear I am not a fan of snaring. But on this site it has to be admitted that the likes of P&G and others do nothing but try to promote legal and humane practice, the greater majority of lads and lasses on here are keen to educate the unexperianced on the best way to go about snaring in a legal and humane a way as possable. All the banning of any forum would do is increase bad practice because where could they go to be put on the right road. The same goes for all subjects on these forums, we all have dissagreement we all get out the pram sometimes, but by far most users of these sites
  12. I heard a tale about a bloke who couldnt even do his boots up properly a real mong,he was shunned by all and bullied rotten. While on ecercise on cyprus some mortar shells dropped short of target killing and wounding. The king of the mongs became something else and down to his actions and quick thinking mens lives were saved.A run in the morning is nothing like a bit of incoming. Thats what Ive been told anyway.
  13. Yes mate and I know a couple of lads that will work nothing else.Get the right ones and they are equal to any other terrier.JMO
  14. Nice to see...a dog happily retired and still wanted and cared for by the person who worked it MOLL. Thankyou Molly,he was my best mate when I was a little lad.Its a crying shame they have to grow old.
  15. Not something Ive done and perhaps wouldnt do but I find the pics intresting. In another thread there is a pic of some young dogs engaging a penned pig no one seemed to mind that ,every one seems to agree on how potentialy dangerous this quarry is so surely a number of strong dogs is safer to use safer on the dog and the hunter.I know a lot of hunts end up with the dogs just baying at the pig and keeping it in one position. But I supose that boils down to the old argument of wether you prefer a bayer or a gamer type dog. A shot wouldnt be safe amongst all those dogs so atleast the hunter has
  16. I would imagine not a bad choice for a ferreting dog but obviously nothing like a pure whippet.
  17. Ime afraid even with 1/4 Greyhound I would have to see it to believe it. Whippets dont like the cold ,frail creatures.
  18. I give up.Why dont I keep pictures of the ones that fail? Just for knob rot here is a pic of a failed terrier bitch relegated to a ferreting and ratting dog.
  19. Are whippets a traditional ferreting dog? Doesnt matter how its bred, though a racing harder type would be better. Whippets dont like the cold they dont like the damp and a cold damp wind is enough to put the greate majority of whippets in a sulk.Fair weather ferreting alright but they would much rather be on the move and in the winter weather if asked to standstill for any ammount of time they throw the towel in. If pure whippets were up to it as ferreting dogs why would people go to the bother of mongrelising them. I realy like whippets for a bit of bushing or lamping.........as
  20. I hear in NZ and Aus you have problems with packs of feral dogs or do you call them wolves :11:
  21. If it is a rabbit only dog you want then collie x is a good bet if your main love is ferreting a 1st x but if its the lamping you like more ten a 3/4 dross or you could go for a 3/8 5/8ths lol. If it is just for rabbiting mate then any smallish lurcher should do you, some collies can be b*****ds to train so dont expect it all to happen over night lol.JMO
  22. I had to smile at this post an Irishman moaning about cheap migrant labour :11: :11: you need to take a look at the history of your own countrymen. :11:
  23. excuse me? ive never come in to any form of contact with ths dog before and i was askin for a bit of advice!! for gods sake! So you are asking does it hurt a dog if you kick it Well what do you think the answer is? use a bit of sense :realmad:
  24. Its got nothing to do with what I like or dont like.I just think a little about the dogs
