  1. A working terrier is something to get excited about and I for one especialy appreciate head studys and the working marks that go with them You want to keep a bit more care of your dogs [bANNED TEXT] and the company you keep........brick hitting dogs in faces working dogs to foxes with no teeth ........your a disgrace and a dreaming disgrace at that.
  2. Are you suggesting working a terrier to fox with no teeth is acceptable? You might consider yourself well known but I dont want to know you. Putting a picture of a battle scarred terrier. What does it proove? It prooves you have some pride in your working dogs.Trouble is the political climate. Peace be with you.
  3. Quite a nice head and a well proportioned body. It will take more than a couple of pics to proove her true worth as a worker though, good luck.
  4. Dont know why so many people get excited at the thopught of a patterdale...........reading some of these replies .......you would imagine patterdales to be some kind of uncontolable psycho breeed.......the ones from the right blood with the right work are a pleasure to own.Contarary to popular belief not all patterdales are good workers either.
  5. Good post that post is trying to justify the extinction of the true working terrier,do what you want with your dogs...I do .....but dont get on your high horse when those with more than a passing intrest in working terriers decry those who dont seem to give a toss.
  6. 45 to 60 foxes until he was 12 years old :11: Bullshit ime afraid unless you class bushing and 12 inch digs as hard work
  7. If a dog has had a reasonably hard working life it wont be fit to work at 10 years old a hard worked terrier will look ready for retirement at 5 or 6 years of age JMo.
  8. no harm done Just another nail ....even if its a small one.........in the true working terriers coffin. As for the Lab if it had the oppurtunity to see 3 or 4 foxes in quick succession it soon would of stuck its tail between its legs and headed for the hills........ :11:
  9. Might sound harsh but the only remedy is get out there and get another ..........best of luck.

banning from the track for fighting doesnt mean a bad tempered dog ......could mean as little as turning her head. Some of the best gamest Bullxs Ive seen have been excellent with other dogs.Nature Nurture.
  11. Genes genes genes an ounce of genes is worth all the training.Training is just making the genes work the way you want them to no ammount of training will put genes (instinct ) into a dog.
  12. Breed from dogs that get the job done ........from parents, grandparents etc that got the job done. Sounds so simple. :11:
  13. Boiled ham :11: take a couple of peices of bread with you and have a picnic. If you just want good pics I would leave the dog at home .
  14. Having read a few biographys of some of the late great terriermen. It is intresting that most of them quite liked a bit of bushing and as much variety for their terriers as possable. You obviously have to take the written word with a pinch of salt, the lads I know who dig regularly and with good results use the terriers as much and as in as many situations as possable. When out actualy checking promising earths the dogs are coupled when its more of a mooch a terrier or 2 will be running loose.A lot of terriers have self entered this way. What ever way you do it,best of luck to all for the coming
  15. I would of had plenty of blank days if it wasnt for the terriers bushing out a fox for the lurcher. There are a few dodgy spots about and around these the terriers are on the leads.I cant afford a pack of hounds so some days the terriers have to do that job.Finding a fox to ground can some times seem impossable a bushing terrir and lurcher team ups the ods of pushing a fox to ground. If a dog wont work well to ground it doesnt earn its keep no matter how good a busher if it wont enter its good bye. Each to their own.
  16. Bad luck and good dogs always seem to go together . He lived the life.
  17. Yes i burried her last night andrea. Kane go n worry about sumet else you sad twat. Now the gloves are off..............your the sad twat havnt you got any respect for your working dog at all.........flaunting pictures of a dead dog hoping to gain sympathy............I would of thought your 1st thoughts would of been to let your pup have atleast a little bit of dignity in death......you and your supporters are a sorry morbid lot... I would have nothing but sympathy for the bloke ........but to actualy take pics of your pup so soon after death is sick.Ive lost dogs myself
  18. You obviously havnt heard Rolf Harris sing :11: :11:
  19. Well mate used as an allrounder a Bullx would certainly have a lot longer life expectancy in the field than a pure greyhound JMO.
  20. Another slag the Bullx thread :11: Some may have them as a ego booster or fashion accesory but a lot of lads have them because they get the job done. I dont know when Bullxs were in or out of fashion but a lot of the lads I know who take terrier work seriously have always had Bull blooded lurchers.
  21. There are a number of laws they can and will do you for. If your caught your dogs and ferrets can be confiscated and at some stage in the future destroyed. Dont get caught is the only way to get away with it. You are playing big boys games and I am afraid you have to play by the big boys rules. It does seem unjust for your dog to be put to sleep just for the sake of a few rabbits but that is the life style you have chosen. You personaly will face large fines and maybe imprisonment but for your animals its a death sentence.
