  1. I think 1/4 Collie 3/4 grey will be my next lurcher. 25-27" rough coated bitch. Can't see it having a problem with anything from ferreting and lamping rabbits and fox.
  2. If you have to ask "how far/much" then I'd say its already way past the mark for cutting loses. Life's too short to dance with ugly women.
  3. dont think he wants to blow it,just keep it safe so she dont get her grubby mitts on it Casinos don't give receipts. So its possible he lost the lot on red.
  4. a bricky is just a labourer with the brains kicked out of him
  5. I think a large factor being ignored here is SKILL some people cannot hit consistently, some can almost work magic. The 17hmr has the power and accuracy on a still day to kill a rabbit at 250yrds, but you need to practice shooting it at 250yrds to have the SKILL to do it

    Food.

any of you steak eaters care to elaborate on your favourite type of steak. aberdeen angus irish moiled longhorn dexter belted galloways or just average steer butt? i had longhorn chump on sunday and certainly had different taste to it, it was nice but not sure it was worth the premium price.

    Food.

    1) pigeon is my favourite meat, so fried pigeon breast with black pudding and fresh ground black pepper with good mashed spuds and gravy. 2) steak and guinness pie or stew, plenty of onions and mushrooms with mash if its the stew. 3) a top quality pork sausage is very hard to beat
  8. You should be trying to drum up a bit of business from the bodhran makers, great use of a goat hide
  9. pretty harmless compared to a grizzly or polar bear. thats like saying an alagator is pretty harmless compared to a nile croc. it could have kill him with a paw swipe or latched onto him with its teeth.
  10. I hope it grows to 52". It would be some animal for giraffe and zebra then
  11. dead mans shoes once were warriors fight club
  12. I don't want to shoot anything but vermin, would be my reasoning. 410/22 is good rabbit setup and obviously the 12 or 20/ 222 or 223, would be lovely for fox. Drilling is the tool for a driven European hunt. Its hard to know what will run past you, and at what range. Roe doe standing at 10yrds vs 300lb boar running hard at 45yrds. Would be nice to use the same tool.
  13. Baikal make the best looking of the 3 mentioned. And they aren't exactly using grade 5 turkish walnut.
  14. I'd love a nice drilling, but need 6 numbers to come up first. A combination is the working mans version.
  15. I was looking at them earlier. Looks more aimed at the "survival" types, than a hunting tool. Obviously it will kill the same as any other, just doesn't have the refined look I'm after.
  16. I didn't know cz done them. Cz make some lovely kit. A 20g/22 hornet would be very handy.
  17. I eat rabbits thats why I'd probably opt for rf/410. But 223 reloaded can be useful
  18. I'm seriously considering a combo gun. Possibly wmr/410 or 223/12g. I enjoy shooting vermin, but if i bring out the rifle, I'll arrive at a field loaded with pigeons or if i take shotgun I'll see loads of 60-70yrd rabbits
  19. i read somewhere the entry in is £12.50, kids are free. and parking is free. the kesh is a good venue.
  20. Why would you want to breed from anything but the best. I'd never breed from anything that wasn't 100% in my eyes, thats a seasoned worker of my chosen quarry to another. Is the whole idea of line breeding not to breed close, great workers. Otherwise its just welsh loving
  21. hawke does decent glass for the price, i had a hawke on my 222 and did a greta job. its not s&b quality, but it is 1/4 the price
  22. do people really have heroes, or indeed are people actually hero material these days. most people seem to be afraid of comeback (if their attempt goes wrong) and just indifferent to other peoples needs, to do heroic acts. i personally don't see many heroes, most acts seem to be done purely for a crack fame or fortune. i think a lot of "heroes" are simply mislabelled, be that famous people with cult status, soldiers doing a paid job that no-one forces them to do (many do it to play war). i think the real heroic figures in society are in emergency services, fire and ambulance especially,t
  23. lol they look like terrorists, away out in the middle of nowhere with theirs salukis.
