  1. Well out of all of them I DO hope the tories get back in, now I am not saying they will make a perfect job of things, but they certainly do not have a marxist agenda like Millipede, aka red Ed, labour will continue with their plan to flood the country with even more immigrants, continue to try and destroy whatever is left of our National identity of being English, and basically put an end to the white race, they will no doubt press on with the foul treacherous crap that is spewed out to children in schools now, lambasting the white race for all the worlds ills, while poor little Ahmed ect wil
  2. I wonder how many unfortunate people have died due to accidents, drunk or drugged drivers while the 9 unfortunates died "in firearms related incidents" rather a lot I would imagine, but funnily enough I dont hear anyone wishing to tighten up on drivers, I wonder why? another attention seeking liberal leftie, trying to get her moment in the limelight, I would not vote labour if you held a gun to my head, and that marxist object Millipede, well if anyone thinks he is fit to be PM they really do need a serious word with themselves, none of the three headed monster lib/lab/con, is to be trusted
  3. Dm are good moderators a pal of mine has one on his .223 and it is good, my own choice would be for the 8" mae/pes small centerfire muzzle can, superb moderators, all stainless contruction, will last a lifetime, and very effective.
  4. If you have the ground, and good reason, go for it now, why not? I cant see any reason to wait unless your renewal is next month.
  5. Yes I see your point, get out and ask mate, the worst that can happen is they say no.
  6. Well to me that is like saying you are not too bothered if your car breaks down a couple of times on a drive to the coast I just could not put up with not knowing if my gun would go off or not, lets say a new Hatstand is £450, and a good used Benelli £700, that is £250 quid difference, now lets say you have the gun for ten years, one will be uber reliable, the other will be a piece of crap that will not work consistently, what is £25 quid a year for the difference of having a reliable gun of quality,as apposed to a tinny substandard, piece of crap that as soon as you walk out of the shop is w
  7. Why dont you try offering somebody a swap then, say a day out on their land for a shot at the geese sometime? You will have far more success like that mate than asking for permission on a hunting site, sound like you need to travel out of your area, and do some door knocking, you will get some if you try hard enough.
  8. Nice on mate, enjoy, how is the Gos doing with his new owner by the way?
  9. I like the bird to see the glove as a good place to hunt from, and move away from to get food, and come to the bare glove, or an occasional titbit, but each to their own, if it works for you then that is the right way for you.
  10. Whatever you do do not buy a Hatstand escort, they are absolute garbage, I would start with a nice over and under or a side by side mate, if you buy a semi and it is unreliable, it will spoil your shooting experience, and you will lose money on it trading it for something else, as the Seeker says, get a nice Lamber or similar, whatever, trust me on the Hatstand.
  11. Keep at it mate, thats what we all have to do, you will get some in the end.
  12. A most generous offer from Laird Rake there, you should have most of the Durham area mate, as I know he has a hell of a lot of good land up there, just a question, if your father and yourself have 44 years collective shooting time between you, then where have you been going? Surely you dont really need Rakes land do you? Would have thought you would have plenty of your own.
  13. Just off to feed mine on the lure now, apart from titbits, I never feed on the glove, but if it works for some then fair enough.
  14. Sounds like a lucky bag then, some cycle one type others wont, and as for not working properly a couple of times on a 40 bird shoot I would be pissed off if mine did that once or twice every 400 never mind 40, if after reading all this any potential Hatstand owners still go ahead and buy one, well you must be mad, £450 on a heap of junk DONT DO IT, buy a good used gun of a reputable make.
  15. Ok give him a reasonable time to come good, but I suspect he is in the pub spending your hard earned, write everything down so you don't forget it, then when you have exhausted your patience ring the police.
  16. Speak to the police, asap the man has obtained money by deception, the last time I looked it was a crime.
  17. Well if your heading over to Calton moor anytime pal, stop off at mine and pick me up, always like a shot down the pipe, and got a lot of time for Mike he is a good egg
  18. You always get them mate,a few years ago,I had just finished lamping rabbits, rifle was locked in the truck, just putting the last couple of bunnies away, my truck was parked in a layby at the side of my permission, suddenly a landrover pulls in front of me and from out of the cab window a chap shines a lamp in my face, so I returned the favour and shone mine in his face,he turned it off and asked me what I was doing, to which I replied, who are you and what business is it of yours? He replied in a pompous manner, I am the keeper on so and so land,I have been shooting foxes and saw you and I want
  19. It obviously was not the same kind of Benneli as mine, or the ones the American military and police use mate, perhaps it was a sneid copy, do you really think the armed forces and s.w.a.t would endorse sub standard goods, don't make me laugh Rimmer old chap.
  20. Probably they get so despondent with their hatstands that they cant be bothered looking after them, after all you cant polish a turd can you?
  21. Reloading is not the black art some make out it is, get a good manual, and look on youtube loads of tutorials on there, once you have grasped the basics it is pretty straight forward mate, basically you punch the old primer out, resise the case, trim it back to standard length, put a new primer in,fill with powder, and seat your bullet, in a nutshell.
  22. Mirfield is good and you don't need to be a member, Calton moor is not as my mate Seeker says in Notts, it is in Derbyshire just past Ashbourne, mike is a very nice chap, and very helpful and really knows his stuff about rifles, it is a pipe range underground so you can zero in totally wind free conditions, there is also Mattersy rifle and pistol club near Doncaster, I have never been but a google search will bring it up mate.
  23. No it did not cost a fortune to set up reloading, about £140 its like anything, you can spend a fortune on kit or a reasonable price, the reloading snobs will tell you to spend a fortune but you really don't need to.
