  1. Have sent you a pm mate, what I mean is, as well as authority to obtain a .22 rimfire, you must also have authority to obtain a .22 rimfire sound moderator, if you wanted to take it with the mod.
  2. Keep at it pal, you will meet with success eventually, good luck.
  3. Rubbish I have permission on a farm with part of it being sssi, no restictions on shooting there.
  4. Not really for anyone to give advice on a birds weight over the net pal, but you should know how her keel feels mate, it sounds to me like you might have to drop her a bit more to get her going, if she finished @2lb last season then her starting weight must have been lees, prob more like 1lb15oz ? But as said mate only you can decide on the birds weight mate, but for what its worth it sounds like a weight issue to me.

So this begs the question Milo what you going to do with him? At the risk of asking a question with perhaps an obvious answer.
  6. Here is my superb Anschutz, xiv carbine for sale, stunningly accurate, 14" bull match grade barrel, superb match trigger, super slick bolt action, with lovely wood, has a 4x40 ir mildot scope, PH moderator, butler creek flip ups, carbine bag, nice leather sling, owned by me from brand new, in immaculate condition, with original handbook, will head shoot bunnies @90 yards all day long, you are welcome to try before you buy(if you have an fac) and you will need the slot on your ticket for the moderator, these are the best out of the box .22rf by far, may take a cheap hw80 in px, £450 with scope,
  7. Hi I am looking for the above, for a project, at a reasonable price, I don't mind a few dings and scratches on the stock, and a bit of worn blueing, but must shoot ok, must be .177 so no .22s please, let me know if you have anything cheers.

Why have an very ordinary, unfit gos that is flown at the weekend, when you can have a super fit, commited, more versatile, Harris, that lamps 4 nights a week, and flys 1 or two days at the weekend? Unless you want to risk lamping your goss that is, in my opinion, the gos is a bird for the man with plenty of daylight time on his hands, something few of us are lucky enough to have, think about it this way, ok you do your best to maintain fitness some jump ups, maybe even a little rope training, it is a week since your bored gos came out of its mews, then the day comes, yipeeeee its Saturday, you o

I agree that in some cases, hawks are too cheap, but in the case of Milo, I don't see what bearing the price he paid for the bird has on anything, I am sure he thought long and hard before buying it, as he would have done if it was a grand, as I am sure he is thinking hard about parting company with it, the lad may be a Goshawk novice, but he is not a falconry novice, seven weeks is not a long time, BUT if you work during the day, and have used up your holiday, and the nights are drawing in probably there has to be a cut off point, possibly the wrong choice of bird, as it would be for me, beca
  11. ADD to that the fact that they have been around since 1948, and they still aint managed to sort em
  12. I'm surprised if that's the case as .22 is more than enough to headshoot a badger surely and I would have thought stealth with NV, moderators and subs would have been the order of the day given the opposition. 243 is the minimum requirement as topper says 100% fact Na mate .17HMR will take down wild boar at 200 yards Surely you mean the new super .17 nail gun old boy?
  13. So long as the damn things are getting culled, they can use a bren gun for me.
  14. That's the thing mate, the likes of us will do that, but some people are either just to damn lazy, or scared to ask permission, and want it off the backs of people who can be arsed, there is a shooting acquaintance of mine, who I will not take out any more, he simply will not get off his arse and ask, he has no land of his own at all, but is happy to go out on other peoples, so I will not take him out any more, the man infuriates me, but to hear him talk in the pub he has land from here to lands end, no these types deserve the piss taking.
  15. That of course does not mean you HAVE to do it that way, there are many ways to skin a cat.
  16. Nice on fella, his season is coming on well now.

So come on mate hows the giant Spar doing?
  18. Sounds like you need to get her mutes checked out, as Minkenry says sounds like she could have some parasites.
  19. I take your point it would stop the two post man annoying us all asking us to let them out on our permissions that most have worked hard to get/keep, to be fair I dont think they get bashed, If they are too dense to realise the error of their ways then they deserve a bit of slow timing/winding up.
  20. FFS why do these knobs keep coming on, making 2 posts then asking for permission? If only it were that easy.
  21. Why not fly a Gos mate? faster, more agile, capable of catching feather in flight, just as stubborn in training
  22. I watched the videos on the ferreting section, brilliant sport and your dedication is to be admired, thankyou for sharing it with us, I just wonder how long before somebody in the UK tries it?
  23. Did it start when you put it back on? I started with the square plastic thing from the local car spares, and a 12 v motorbike battery, not great but it worked, then I got a job in a place that had one or two sealed alarm batteries knocking about no more holes in my coat or jeans, well not fro acid anyway, as one bloke said earlier I remember getting the lazerlight from Johnson fieldsports, that really did transform things for me, nowadays use the smaller lighter shooterlight.
