charlie caller replied to WadeRose's topic in Rabbit Shooting
My mate Rake aboot has the whole of Redruth area mate, he will be on soon, ask him nicely and he will let you onto some of his ground I am sure, its a shame you only got airguns, as I happen to know he wanted help with some red deer in the area, anyway over to you Rake can you help these lads out? -
Cheers will do Milo, if ya get fed up I will do you a deal with your gos lol, keep it up mate.

Some Basic Question For Noob Please!
charlie caller replied to dangerousdan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
The best thing to do is ring and ask them pal, I don't really have much need or interest in target shooting/clubs as all my shooting is game/vermin so apart from the odd zero session (which I can do on any of my permissions) I rarely shoot paper, but I would have thought if they only have a 25 yard range they are not going to be shooting much else? Maybe black powder, or gallery carbines, best to ring them mate. -
For Sale Tikka 590, Still Sat Here Doing Nothing
charlie caller replied to bobjs's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Might be an idea to mention the calibre mate, good look with the sale, love the older Tikkas. -
Or a shit landrover lol.

Not with a good wood burner in it does not, I used to be sat in me boxers and t shirt, and it was minus 6 outside, and I am not joking a good wood burning stove is all you need to keep you warm as toast.

Yes and another point Tillylamp, is that the bells and whistles on your 19 year old Toyota,WORK you would be lucky if they worked on a 19 MONTH old Landrover I have a shooting mate who has a one owner from new (his mum) disco full dealer service history, on a 53 plate I think, and it goes wrong constantly, and it has been looked after, they are a pile of trash.

Anyone Every Get The .22 Barrel Cut Down?
charlie caller replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Not sure but you can get them at 12" the Mae phantom is that length mate, I reckon 14"- 16" is perfect, and my Annie will head shoot bunnies @ 90 yards all day long, you can ask no more of a .22rf than that. -

Anyone Every Get The .22 Barrel Cut Down?
charlie caller replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Get it cut down to 14" mate that is the length of my Anschutz and a more accurate .22rf I have yet to see. -
Get some shin beef mate, its cheap and they love it, just don't forget to weigh it dude, so you know how much to give him, sounds like your patience is paying off mate, in a while you will be looking back at all this and laughing about it, and how sweet will success taste when he binds to that first bunny/pheasant, carry on mate you are cracking it.

Some Basic Question For Noob Please!
charlie caller replied to dangerousdan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I have no idea about your local club, but if they allow .22rf start with that, your fac will allow you to shoot on approved ranges, so you will be able to travel to other clubs with a longer range, once you have your ticket, you will then be able to progress to new levels as and when you wish, and can afford, as the others have said, don't try and run before you can walk, you will learn a lot from a .22 and get all the help you need from club members I am sure. -
If you put the right tyres on a trooper ect, it will go anywhere a standard defender will, I am assuming the op does not wish to compete off road, just have a reliable go anywhere (within reason) shooting/country vehicle, if he wants the ultimate off roader then he should buy a modded Suzuki jimny and wave bye bye to all the landrovers it pisses on off road, but as an everyday 4x4 Jap stuff, and it pains me to say it is the way forward, Landrovers are for people who like to get the spanners out, which is fine if you have the time/knowledge/ability.

I did it for 3 years on my own land, I loved every second of it,had a bit of hassle from the council, when they told me my trailer had to be moved I did just that, to the other side of the field ,I then found out it only had to be moved 6" a year lol, another good way would be in a camper van, I would love to see them stop you driving your camper van onto your own land, when you buy land, part or what you are paying for is enjoyement of that land, always remember that, don't be intimidated by some grey suited jobsworth you can always find a way round things if you have a brain.

£3000 will get you a complete bag of shite Landrover that will need welding, will piss oil everywhere (assuming anyone has bothered to put any in for ten years) the power steering box will almost certainly piss oil and need replacing for the test, the doors will have dropped, and it will leak water in like a sieve, or alternatively £3000 will get you a nice tidy Isuzu trooper prob around 8-10 years old, with a superb chassis, just run in at around ,000 miles, it will be comfortable, wont piss water in, it will go anywhere a Landrover will, have a lot more room than a swb, and the bonus is you

Some Basic Question For Noob Please!
charlie caller replied to dangerousdan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
You would be much better imho, getting a .22rf for target shooting, and it will cost you a whole packet less than a fancy fac air rifle, and if you do decide to shoot bunnies ect, then all that is needed is some land passed for the calibre or above, and the condition to shoot vermin added and you are away, I think if you go fac air you are restricting yourself quite a bit. -
Yep I am with you on that one, after being at work all week I feel like I have lost a weekend if I don't go out and have a pint or three on a fri or sat night, drink the odd bottle of vino in the week but, its not like the old days I would be out thur fri sat sun at least, but I could afford it then lol.

Sounds like you getting somewhere slowly mate, keep it up it will all click.
-
That is an absolute bargain for somebody, you cant beat a good .222 one of the most accurate round out there, good luck with the sale, if I had any room in the cabinet I would snap your hand off mate.

Wanted Air Rifle Hunting Rabbit Permission Somerset
charlie caller replied to Callum95's topic in Rabbit Shooting
Try asking some landowners for permission lad, instead of asking fellow shooters, who either have their own hard won permissions, or are in the same boat as you, there are NO FARMERS ON HERE GIVING PERMISSION AWAY.
